I have been actively debating with religious people for almost 20 years. 90% of them have been Christians. When you blow away all the smoke I find that it ALL comes down to - "God Said It, I Believe It, That Settles It". I have not yet heard of any solid evidence.

Chase, don't know how old you are? You'll never get an answer to this question. Faith is believing in something that one can't see or determine logically. Still Jesus and every preacher on earth uses logic and logical analogies to spread or explain their gospel. Once you ask a question however, it's back to just "faith". Always been that way. I personally think Jesus was an "existential" soul. He could logically explain things. That's all gone with modern day Christianity, however.

Nope,
We have historical evidence that backs up Biblical Events. For example The Bible told of the copper mines in Jerusalem, long before they were found, same with Pontius Pilate. Cyrus the Great, was mentioned in the Bible before he came about, and many prophecies came true. We have historical evdience to back up most of the Bible, there are parts we do take on faith, but we can prove some. The Bible mentions springs in the sea, before they were found. Tells of the sun making wind, as it does. The Bible is a very accurate book, yes we cannot prove everything about it, but we do have a lot to go on.
God Bless.

The Jews my friend, the Jews. Do you know the Bible? Do you know the prophesies of the Bible? Do you realize that Bible prophesies have all come true and some are still to come true.
God said He would bring the Jewish people back and He did in 1948. God said a nation born in one day and Israel was. God said they would speak their pure language and Hebrew is their original language and it is the national language today.
Do you know anything about the Six Day War? There were so many miracles that men are in awe of it. Little Israel was fighting five nations and won the war.
Open your ears and eyes. You are being blinded by the deceiver of this world. The logical, evenminded, thinking and intelligent people have closed their ears and eyes and act deaf and dumb.
Read 1 Corinthians chapter one.

What I find interesting is the assumption underlying your question. That is, that unbelief is the default view and belief must defend itself. Revering a sacred text is part of being a real, full human being who belongs to a larger community or nation. You cheat yourself by cutting yourself off from your heritage.

No wonder the U.S. is trailing the world in science education. It is easier to have faith where thought is frowned upon than to feel like thinking is important and necessary.
