So I just got engaged last night! :) I'm not sure what to do with my promise ring I got 2 years ago...do I still wear it on my right hand, or is that going to be too much? I love it and I won't get rid of it, but I'm not sure if it should be a daily wear any more...People keep asking me what I am going to do, and I don't know what's "right," or "normal".

First of all congratulations on your engagement. However for your promise ring i would recommend putting it on a chain and wearing it around your neck!It is a precious gift and one to be admired! You dont even have to have it on show,Just wear it close to your heart!

I have both, though my promise ring is very small so it doesn't look tacky when i wear both. I do think its a bit too much to wear them on the same hand though, so i wear my promise ring on the right and the engagement ring on the left. It's really up to you though. Everybody does it differently.

I have a promise ring , what people say to do with it is still wear it on your right hand or switch it to the left if you feel it is too much, but still wear it. When you get married the person who is going to be your life partner at your wedding ceremony is suppose to take it off and put your wedding ring on.But wear it until your wedding day.

I had a promise ring also. I would put in in a keepsake box. I personally think wearing them both is a little too much, but that's just my opinion. Congrats on the engagement.

Yay!! I just got engaged last Saturday and am trying to decide the same thing. I think that I will clean the promise ring nicely and put it in a box and put it away (maybe in a safe deposit box or safe) for my future daughters. I will give it to them on their 16th birthdays.
Another idea is to wear it on a chain around your neck if you aren't ready to put it away yet.
Congratulations!!!

You do whatever you want to do with it. I considered having mine switched to the right hand, but now what I'm looking into is having it merged with my engagement and wedding band.

Some people save it for their little girls, some people wear it around their neck...it's pretty much whatever you want to do. There is no "right" or "normal" way :)

Congrats!!

You can do whatever you want with it...as long as its a promise ring from the same guy you're engaged to. :)

If it has sentimental value, get it sized for your ring finger on your right hand.

I would keep it in a keepsake box. Maybe you can give it to your daughter one day or something. You could always buy a chain for it and wear it around your neck from time to time.

I would probably wear it on my right hand and then give it to my daughter, if I have one, someday. Congrats on your engagement!

Depending on what it looks like you could have it made into a charm to wear on a chain so its close by your heart always!
