1 hour, 48 minutes ago

SHERPAO, Pakistan - A suicide attacker detonated a bomb packed with ball bearings and nails amid hundreds of worshippers Friday at the residential compound of a former top security official for President Pervez Musharraf, killing at least 50 people, authorities said. ...

The bombing, which came during the Islamic holy day of Eid al-Adha, left a scene of carnage at the mosque at the politician's residential compound in Sherpao, a village 25 miles northeast of the city of Peshawar.

[what makes you think that he is going to heaven by blowing up people who are worshipping God?]

Ah, good point, I meant the innocent worshipers, though I'm sure the killer was pertty convinced he'd be going to Heaven as well.

Quite, and if more muslims felt the same way and were actually VOCAL about such horrible acts committed in the name of islam then perhaps a few of the killers might think better of their plans before they act. To do so is, however, quite dangerous in the islamic world - do YOU have the courage to go to the places where ideas like homicide bombing are accpeted and tell them in the mosque that they are wrong and back it up with quotes from the Quoran? If a kafir were to do such a thing we would not be listened to, but you are of the same religion as the killers and perhaps some of them might listen. Isn't saving even one child ro other innocent person from being killed or terribly maimed worth the risk to yourself?

What is my purpose in all this crap I give you? - to get you mad enough to try to stop it from happening, instead I get either denials or insults. You only hurt yourselves with that.

People DO try to fight crime here - it may come as a surprise, but I personally oppose private ownership of firearms, and I vote that way and tell other people my reasons, I vote for tough laws, I vote for leaders tough on crime. Is it a tragedy that so many murders happen in this great country? Yes. Do they happen in the name of one particular religion or political agenda or creed? No. Your comparison between the cases of islamic violence and murders in America is, therefore, not a good one. That certainly is not to say that muders here aren't a tragedy and that Americans should just ignore them. Many of the murders happen over drugs, but you don't see Americans (outside of extremist libs) espousing drug use like the way you espouse islam here then try to ignore terror committed in the name of islam.

As far as the issue of those associated with Americans getting killed goes, that sort of thing has been going on since long before we got there - muslims killing hindus, muslims killing muslims (Iran-Iraq War), tribal violence, etc. The appearence of "The Great Satan" has only focused the violence on us, not so much increased it.

2007-12-21 05:56:29 · update #6

The issue of crime reminds me of something that I realized long ago - that loss of freedom due to government trying to squash all anarchy is no less odious than the loss of freedom due to anarchy. A minimum loss of freedom from both causes is what we should all strive for and is very difficult to recognize, much less achieve.

How many Americans participated in that attack?

Assigning blame is a by-product of trying to stop the kind of horror mentioned in the story above from happening - if you don't know who did it then how can you do much to stop it in the future?

"troll"

Troll, ogre, whatever - don't you get mad that there are stories like the one above EVERY DAY??? Why not DO SOMETHING in your community to stop this???? Me preaching this message in mosques will only result in me getting killed - if YOU try to deliver this message at least they might listen to you before killing you - oh wait, you're a girl so they probably won't listen to you either.

Yeah, I caught the denial part early-on, that's part of the problem - you folks won't admit that the terrorists are doing what they do in the name of islam.

This was indeed a sad incident. But let me remind you Pakistan is a developing country and terrorism is something which can show its terror anytime, anywhere.. By the way the incident of 9/11, I guess America is a DEVELOPED COUNTRY so how come such a huge incident took place there?
London, why do we keep hearing about bomb attacks there?

All that has been done by muslims, as shown by the media, then what is the prove of them being a muslim? they might be jew, christian or of no religion at all, but it has become a *Status Symbol* now to blame muslims and those so called muslims accepting those blames, so such people cannot be called muslims at all. End of one story.

Therefore, when Developed countries cannot keep themselves safe from such drastic attacks, then it really sounds so immature to name Pak. because terror is taking place EVERYWHERE in the world.

Not to forget America conducts *War of Peace* and we all know what is behind this peace.~!

And dear you better understand the question first and then post it in the right section, its rather more political. ~!

Asalam Alaikum Alhumdillah we had a wonderful Eid here. We went to prayer then went to a friends house. Had some wonderful food and celebrated this joyous holiday with good friends. The only bad thing was my youngest son had a head on collision with another little boy. Alhumdillah both are ok but it was scary for a minute we thought the other little boy's nose was broken. Alhumdillah it was not just a little swollen and he had a busted lip. My little man got a huge knot on his forehead. But you know boys will be boy alhumdillah Anyways how was your Eid. Hope you are enjoying this blessed holiday

Hmmmmmm strange all these things started happening after America meddled in Pakistan foreign policy. Look what is happening to Afghanistan and Iraq. Whoever listened to America got skewed big time.

Look at every day life -in America:

Here 33 died in a shooting

http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2007-04-16-virginia-tech_N.htm

Here we have another shooting:

http://blogs.usatoday.com/ondeadline/2007/12/colo-church-it.html

Approximately 45 murders are committed each day in the U.S. EACH DAY!!!

What do you want to teach us, you want to make us mad to do something about the terrorist, who is going to get you mad to do something about your terrorist acts committed by Americans.

In a single year, 3,012 children and teens were killed by gunfire in the United States, according to the latest national data released. That is one child every three hours; eight children every day; and more than 50 children every week. And every year, at least 4 to 5 times as many kids and teens suffer from non-fatal firearm injuries. (Children's Defense Fund and National Center for Health Statistics)

So thanks, but no thanks. Speak up against your country's atrocities then maybe we will listen to you

You are one of those people mentioned in the Holy Quran:
Translations by:
Yusuf Ali: As to those who reject Faith, it is the same to them whether thou warn them or do not warn them; they will not believe.
Zohurul Hoque: Surely those who disbelieve- it being alike to them whether you warn them, or do not warn them- they will not believe.
T. J. Irving: It is all the same whether you warn those who disbelieve or do not warn them; they still will not believe:
T.U. Hilali-M. Khan: Verily, those who disbelieve, it is the same to them whether you (O Muhammad Peace be upon him ) warn them or do not warn them, they will not believe.
M. Pickthall: As for the Disbelievers, Whether thou warn them or thou warn them not it is all one for them; they believe not.
M.H. Shakir: Surely those who disbelieve, it being alike to them whether you warn them, or do not warn them, will not believe.
MY REQUEST TO ALL MUSLIMS: Please ignore this user. He has been continuously abusing Islam as I have seen him
May Allah help us in our TRUE AND PEACEFUL mission.
