At 12 years old, your dog probably has arthritis. Please get him to the vet ASAP - he doesn't need to be in pain, your vet will tell you how bad his arthritis is and what he needs to take for it.

Same thing happens to my sisters springer/border collie x, he is older too and is arthritic and also his joints in his hind legs are pretty much shot....so if someone new takes him for a walk he acts like a little pup and runs and plays then the next day he can hardly move...so he has to be just let out for bathroom breaks and if he does go for a walk it's on a leash and not too long, no running or walking to far. There is not much a vet can do either, it's old age basically creeping up...my sister did get some pills for dogs from the health food store, the maker of them is called lakota....it's for their joints and arthritis and she said it did help. It's much better than giving a dog steroids like a vet would do.

Depending on how well he has been cared for in food and vet care he is a very old man. Make his walks shorter and maybe two a day if you are only doing one> Or put him on a treat mill for some at home exercise (if you have one). Enjoy his final years and take care of him in his final days. My spaniel left me at about 12 years from a massive heart attack and I miss him every day. So treasure the time you have it cannot be replaced.

No, the nice and cozy button is that your spouse offered a dogs, in all risk on impulse, devoid of the two of you understanding lots approximately canines or practise. The dogs is what you have allowed it to advance into. this is not a monster, this is the manufactured from its ecosystem and absence of effectual practise. Why get a dogs if neither of you have time for it? It would not take lots attempt to arise a million/2 an hour until eventually now in the morning and walk the dogs until eventually now you flow away for artwork. Likewise a walk in the night isn't any huge deal for many dogs proprietors, extremely as there are 2 human beings sharing the care of the dogs. attempting a great style of distinctive practise innovations will confuse the dogs (and the owner). decide for one technique of educating and carry on with it. in case you have not any adventure in practise a dogs a process obedience practise instructions could be so as. adverse chewing isn't merely a symptom of separation stress. it is likewise a symptom of boredom via loss of exercising and practise. Did you communicate taking this dogs to an afternoon care facility? I advise this because of the fact i don't think a dogs must be crated for longer than 4 hours so crate practise is out while you're away all day. i think of this dogs could be greater effectual off being rehomed yet while this is as badly behaved as you describe it heavily isn't straight forward to locate people who're in seek of a dogs who has no manners and is adverse. i desire you detect a loving homestead for this dogs yet please don't be tempted to get yet another dogs.

The dog probably is suffering from Osteoarthritis. Its okay to walk him but, seems maybe you are walking a bit too far. Cut down the length of the walk and get him some joint remedy from the vet. Good Luck!

He might have arthritis. I would have your vet check his bad leg for joint inflammation. They have a variety of inexpensive meds he can take to make him more comfortable.
