...is this preparing you for his possible return when you might be doing it for real, should he succeed in ruling the world? Like girls pretend to look after a plastic baby to prepare them for the real thing later on?

But it is pretend. It is not actual blood or actual flesh. You are pretending it is.

i'm so chuffed you asked this question as a results of fact it fairly is spoke back interior the Bible. Jesus advised us on the final supper while they drank WINE and broke BREAD that each and every time we did this we would desire to constantly do it to recollect what He replaced into approximately to do. on no account did human beings drink actual blood and consume uncooked flesh interior the Bible as a sacrifice for sins or for the different reason. The animals have been slaughtered and the blood sprinkled on the regulate and the flesh replaced into burned. You proove the Bible authentic!

No, we are not pretending. We believe Jesus.
Jesus said to them, "Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you.
54
Whoever eats 19 my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day.
55
For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink.
56
Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him.
Then He warned them to think spiritually, not carnally:
It is the spirit that gives life, while the flesh 22 is of no avail. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and life.
64
But there are some of you who do not believe."

His flesh is symbolic of scripture (bread). When you read the Word of God you consume it. His blood is symbolized by wine and is the trust we put in the atonement He provided through the shedding of His blood. It is only in the apostate Roman Catholic religion that they miss the symbology and teach the doctrine of transubstantiation..or whatever its called where the "wafer", which by the way did not exist in Christs time...or Euchrist...whatever, becomes flesh as it is orally consumed. The same with the wine. When Jesus instructed at the passover meal or what would be His last supper...He said..."Do this in rememberance of me..." Its all about reading His Word and Keeping His scripture...breaking open that bread partaking of the life He offers. Love in Christ, ~J~

Ritual symbolic cannibalism is one of the cornerstones of the Christian religion.
Some religions like Catholicism actually believe that the wafer and wine actually transform into flesh and blood after being eaten.
And people actually wonder why others can't just accept this kind of stuff...

They're not pretending.
According to the doctrine of transubstantiation, those actually are the actual, for real, actual blood and body of Christ they are consuming.
I wonder, if you were to add up all the mass of all the Eucharist wafers and wine consumed over the centuries as the body and blood of Christ, how much it would add up to?
Apparently Jesus was a bit of a fattie.
