I feel like a lot of us here get all high-and-mighty when answering these questions - and very 'accusational'. Can't we just answer the question without rubbing stuff in others' faces?

They say it is not nice to discuss politics and religion probably because it often leads to vicious fights. Unfortunately, in my opinion, the environmental debates seem to include elements of both. When you argue emotional issues, rationality is the first casualty.

I agree, some of the answers I have posted get thumbs down because someone who thinks they are above all else rate it that way or bash you because of it. I once answered a question and this crybaby said it was spam. I am all about reducing and making an effort but some of the solutions to the problem are way out there. I figured most of the people who wanted to help the environment were open-minded but it seems they are narrow-minded when you don't say what they want to hear.

It is alway easier to see what others are doing that is harmful to the environment than to do some real soul searching of our own. If we all contribute, a little or a lot, we help. In the time it takes to complain about what someone else is not doing, we can be doing something worthwhile!! God Bless and Merry Christmas!

Everyone is defensive and sensitive and opinionated and motivated about something or other, often changing priorities on a day-to-day basis, depending, unfortunately, on media hype.

The "trick" is to learn what's truly important to YOU, and to take what anyone else says (even those who are "on your side", and, yes, even me!) with a healthy amount of detachment, skepticism, and intelligence.

First off, We are all "environmental people" because we rely on the environment to live. Secondly, I figure people get accusational because it's much easier to be apathetic and ignorant than it is to be informed and acting. some people just spew out crap without thinking about how their view is related to and connected to the rest of world.
