I went interview this week on Tuesday. I did send my thank you letter on Wednesday and today to find the result. The HR is saying they will decide by next week and let all candidate know their decision. Does it mean right now still looking and think they have not found the right person. But she didn't turn me down so I guess does it mean still there is hope. Only think I think it ruin my chance is me being late to my interview 10 minutes but other than that I know I did great in interview. The HR manger was prior to me they interviewed 11 people she didn't like any of them and one they interview on Tuesday were today 3 people that includes me she thought all of us were the best so far and she said she think they should be able to decide now otherwise will continue looking. The job has been removed from the website. I wonder if they made someone offer and just waiting to see that background clear

You can not second guess. They just may not have made the decision yet, some people may be on vacation, they may be checking references ... if they said next week, you just have to be patient, and try to keep your mind off it so you don't go crazy.

I think it's a positive sign that she told you that she liked you, and you were better than the 11 previous people. If she didn't like you, she would not have said that...she just would have said thank-you.
The fact that you were late is not good...unless you called to let them know ahead of time. If it's between you and another person, they'll probably pick the other person based on that.
As to why they couldn't let you know now...it could be a lot of things. Perhaps with the holidays, some of the decision makers are out of the office, and they can't extend an offer. It could be as simple as an HR person isn't their to sign a piece of paper. Or, they could be finishing interviews today, and will decide next week.
Keep applying...it won't hurt until you do have an offer. Plus, being in a position where you have multiple people offering you jobs is the best!

Just because you were late is not always a bad thing. Did you have a good reason to be late? Did you call and notify them you were going to be late? If not, keep looking. No employer is going to hire someone who is late to the interview unless you are the perfect candidate.

I have interviewed several times in the past and cannot think of any time I hired someone that was late to the interview. Probably should keep on looking.

They could still be looking, short staffed with the holidays, having to do reference and prior employment calls before they offer you the job, it could be anything.

I wouldn't give up a job search, though, until I had a firm offer from an employer.

I think if you had the job you would know by now. You should certainly wait to hear back, but I wouldn't count on getting an offer.

But, don't despair. I have found in my own job search that if I don't get one position, a better one is waiting for me.
