A new job I am starting wants to see my tax returns for the past 2 years, but I have been out of work and have not had any income. Where can I get a fake return made up?

Why does your job want to see your tax returns?

If there is a legitimate reason that you must show you filed a tax return, then send in IRS form 4506-T requesting "verification of non-filing"--this will show that you had no income and no filing requirement.

If they are asking because you claimed you made $50K a year in sales or consulting income for the past 2 years and they want to confirm the income, then you are SOL. Tell them the truth. You won't get the job, but the ordeal will be over with. (Sales positions commonly ask to see your W-2s.)

Tell the truth; if you had no income and filed no tax returns then there are no tax returns. By the way; when showing anybody a tax return blank out your social security number for security against identity theft.

I would not fake a tax return. Just tell the employer that you have been unemployed for 2 years, or did you lie on your resume?

Just say you didn't file a return and you moved and lost your W-2's.

Lying on your resume will get you fired quicker than about anything else.
