Common sense... just keep an eye on your cat whenever you are coming or going through the door. Don't leave your door open. Don't leave your windows open. If the cat has an urge to be outside, crack some windows so that the cat can hear the sounds of the outdoors. Or, if you have a sliding door with a screen, open the door and let the cat sit at the screen and experience the outdoors without actually going outside.

Keep the doors closed and open the windows from the top down, not the bottom up. My cats never get out. I make sure to watch the doors and tell people as they enter or leave to watch for the cats.

Hi. Well you could just keep the doors n windows shut. lol. Spading and neutering tends to help a little from the wondering habits. But that doesn't always do the trick. I'm sure if you had a 24 hr watch dog at the door would definitely do the trick. Good luck.

For goodness sake! It's a CAT! That's what cats do!
If you don't want the cat to do that, keep it inside!
If it's important for you to let the cat go outside, then get over it (and be sure your cat is spayed or neutered).

Your cat, like most animals, feels a compulsion to go outside. If you want to satisfy him in some way, get one of those cat harness leash things and take him for a walk around the area. Cats are fickle, so he/she may get bored quickly.

Cats are inquisitive and curious, so they are bound to wonder, especially when they are outside and seeing new things. They'll look at a bush and think "I wonder what that is", and see a bird and think "I wonder what that tastes like".
I wonder why you asked.
