Those rounds are very very different.
Of the guns mentioned, Savage is no doubt the best (you can get that in 223, 270, or 30-06). You're paying more for the gun though
Stevens is the BEST bargain in rifle today.
This is the savage before savage improved their trigger.
It is a heck of a gun for 300 dollars --- shoots better than most 1000 dollars rifles. Again - 223, 270, or 30-06.
I'd be getting the Stevens and use that money saved to buy a different stock if you don't like the black.

I'd go with the Savage 111. They have great out-of-the-box accuracy and, if the trigger is an accutrigger, then it won't need any adjustment. Should be an affordable shooter for an amateur rifleman to practice and hunt with. .270 is a great cartridge that will allow you to hunt just about any North American game. Ditto for the .30-06.
A better and more comparable rifle in the Remington line for you to consider is finding a good used 700 bdl or cdl chambered in .30-06. You can find them used at most gun shows and in just about every gun shop in America. They are durable and accurate, but may require some trigger adjustment, which isn't a big deal for anyone who can locate a gunsmith.
There isn't much difference between the .270 and .30-06 when it comes to recoil. I'd say the 06 is more versatile.
For a review on the cartridges Google "Chuck Hawks." His page is chocked full of info on recoil, rifle products, ballistics, etc.
Also, try "Gunner's Den." Both of these will show you which game (and to what distance) most big game can be taken with either cartridge.

They are all good rifles it just depends on what you are hunting. Personally I like a 30-06 but I would buy a Savage with Accutrigger over the Rem 770. The key to all of them is a good scope and mounts, Leupold, Burris, Nikon.
I own all 3 calibers plus many many more and I almost always carry my Weatherby 30-06 over the rest of my guns when deer hunting. I have a Savage 300WSM that is my second favorite. I use a 223 for varmint and coyote hunting.

I have all three you have mentioned. I bought a 111 Savage last year in .30-06. I took it to the range, after cleaning it but basically straight out the box, and it was only a quarter inch below dead center. I adjusted it to 1.5 high at 100 yards and have shot 5 deer with it at ranges from 35 yards to 225 yards. It is wonderfully accurate and surprisingly inexpensive. Later, I am going to replace the Simmons scope it came with to a Leupold, but that is only a preference change not an accuracy issue. It would seem Savage has really found a market in the "box gun" area. They compete with my very high end guns.
Good Luck!

What's a better hammer? For what purpose?
The Remington is the highest quality rifle mentioned.
The 223 is for small game, the 270, larger,
the 30-06, largest.

Savage in 30-06 caliber would be the best choice, because you have a greater variety of bullet weights to choose from.* When you have a 30-06 you don't need any other rifle.* It will harvest any game in North America.*
