... when the word for soul in Genesis, nephesh, is used for animals?
"And God created great whales, and every living creature (nephesh, psuche) that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good" (Gen. 1:21).
"And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature (nephesh, psuche) after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so" (Gen. 1:24).
"And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul (nephesh, psuche)" (Gen. 2:7).

Because they don't take literally verses like:
"And all flesh shall see the salvation of God." Luke 3:6
"This plan, which God will complete when the time is right, is to bring all creation together, everything in heaven and on earth, with Christ as head." Ephesians 1:10
For a wonderful discussion of this, see the link.

that's what i in my view have self belief. the rationalization i've got self belief it rather is considering that's what I truthfully have examine. I quote the bible... Revelation 21:a million states; "Then I observed a sparkling heaven and a sparkling earth; for the 1st heaven and the 1st earth had gave up the ghost, and the sea became into not extra." The bible says that there'll be a sparkling heaven and a sparkling EARTH. So i think of God could have the animals on earth. Why else might he convey a sparkling earth? in keeping with danger some human beings would be in the international besides. we can understand while the top comes.

God wanted blood sacrifice
Abel offered God an animal, then Abel became a sacrifice
Abraham was asked to sacrifice his son, God accepted the Ram, after Abraham passed the test
Why did God require blood of a living being if it had no value

Some Christians hear this and assume that it is doctrine, and pass it on to someone else.
I have searched for some reference to this in the Bible and I find only one mention of animals having a spirit.
It is my believe that however animals fit into God's plan is none of our business and we don't need to know. Otherwise, God would have told us.

Well, I don't really believe anyone has a soul, but if you are going to question why animals don't have a soul, why stop there? What about termites, roaches and the all the other billions of insects? Why stop there? Why don't bacteria have souls? Maybe they do! Who is to say with 100% confidence and PROOF? Sound absurd? Exactly why?

Christians aren't the only group that holds positions that are difficult to proof... I'm sure there are numerous fissures in your personal paradigm that cannot be substantiated as well.
The claim that there is a spirit or a soul is a matter of faith that is difficult to proof as well... and to affirm such would send many ardent athiest into an epileptic fit.
I'm not a christian and therefore do not know why SOME christians hold the view that animals do not have souls.
I would venture to speculate that it's because we eat them.
The mind is easily passified with said view after haven eaten
one of God's critters... and then given thanks to God for the meal.
Some pagan cultures that held the view that animals were part of the spirit world practiced religous rituals giving thanks directly to the animal that in their mind willingly gave their live to them for nourishment so they could continue to live.
Both paradigms work at releaving ones existential gult to some extent for killing so one can continue to live.
Bad for the critter though.
The reality is that there is no form of live that does'nt perpetuate its continued existence at the exspense of some other life form [i.e. consuming]... from bacteria, to plants, and to larger more complex life forms... hense the fallacy in the argument of some ardent vegetarian activists.
I'm an avid hunter and feel compelled to give thanks directly to the animal I killed and ate so I could continue to carry-on on this piece of dirt that is hurling through space at over 400,000 miles per hour when considering all motion vectors... which is truely sublime... mind boggling... a wonder that I exist at all... and a joy to be alive!
Life is simple!
All that life requires of us is that we eat, sh_t ,sleep, and if chance comes our way, do a little procreating... I especially like that part!
Everthing else we make up.
All the emotional anquish and pain is of our own creation.
All disfunctional behavior comes from fear... and all fear comes from ignorance.
Am I proselytizing!
Should I start my own religous cult?
Na!
I choose to improve the human condition though reason and example... as opposed to coersion... as Jesus and many other wise individuals suggested... a way of engaging the world that I have experienced to be tuely more fulfilling... though there are times when one must put ones ideals aside to oppose what are clearly crimes against humanity and society... for evil wins when good people do nothing... hense the faustian fallacy of ardent pacifism.
The clouds and moutain streams wandering no where... flowers in impenetrable canyons, beautiful for no one to see... the ocean surf, forever washing the sand to no end... how wonderous... I draw water and hew wood.
Agape!

Because it is hard to eat other creatures if you think they have the same lives, loves and spirit inside them as you do.
Why are we happy to buy burgers but offended when we think of eating a moo cow, glad to fry bacon so long as it is not Porky Pig?
This is all the same thing.
It is the same as why we must dehumanize our enemies by calling them by other names instead of people. If you think of others as human like you it is hard to justify bimbing them.
With animals it is the same. If we think of them as just things we can murder them, grind them and fry them.
--------
I am not in any way shape or form a Vegan, I am just saying what is true about our nature as humans.

Well, since many Christians are ignorant and fail to thouroughly investigate the bible, the would not even know of those passages.
And an ignorant Christian, using common sense, would have to decide that animals have no soul since they do not have as a well developed cortex as we apes do.
