I simply stopped cursing, stopped getting so angry at others, remain positive for God in all things and I know this has made him very happy. As I study the bible, I see I am on the right track! Read Colossians 3 - it tells you everything you need to do! Good luck and God bless.
8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.
9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:
11Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.
12Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
13Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
14And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

I'll agree with the first answer in saying that being kind to people is the best way you can please whatever God you worship.
I will disagree, however, with no1home2day that kindness has to be planned. Smiling doesn't take any planning and is often a very kind thing to do, despite how simple it seems. Similarly being polite is kind and also doesn't require planning, just a little practice. Spontaneously dropping change into a collection bucket (or cup held by a homeless person) may take a little planning but not on the order I think of as "pre-planning".
So in short, be nice to people. Treat people the way you would want them to treat you and you will find salvation in whatever form you are seeking it.

Don't forget, God is your Heavenly FATHER. His joy is in seeing his children happy.
And besides... God is already supreme, no human can "lift God up." We are the ones who need the lift... and that is why we should be taking up.... the EASY Yoke...and not be putting more burdens on ourselves to "please God."
I know this statement will cut across the grain, but our job is to "be still... and know that I am God." It's about the skill of stopping... not of adding more on to our already crowded routine. God is found in stillness, not ceaseless activity.
This resource will explain the Original Gospel about "treasure hid in a field," and the "easy yoke." Get back to the Original Kingdom Gospel... that would be a good New Years resolution.

Little things that please God. Hmmmmm. Jesus said that one must be converted, as a child. I'm 51 years old and I thank Him every morning for not peeing the bed. The data pathways and energy pathways that makes this possible are extremely complex and worthy of being thankful for.
My transportation is a bicycle and I wouldn't trade my ten dollar bike for the most expensive car in the world. I also thank Him for the fact I can still ride WITHOUT training wheels! God Bless you for THINKING about pleasing Him!

God is pleased when we make time for Him on a daily basis. Read your Bible and pray without ceasing. That doesn't mean that you are on your knees every second of the day, it just means that you talk to Him throughout the day. Include Him in your plans, in your conversations and in your decision making process. What do you do to nurture your relationships here on earth? Do the same kinds of things for God. He is pleased when you reach out for Him. Acknowledge Him in all your ways and He will make your path straight. Good question!

People are so rushed, confused, driven today that they are just stepping over each other like cruel and unthinking robots. Forgiving and overlooking every uncaring event will stop the perpetuation of hell in its tracks and allow a little bit of the kingdom of heaven to shine through..

How about making yourself happy instead of God? Having asked you that my answer would be...Live your life respecting others, loving those closest to you, conserving and preserving the environment, and doing service to humanity. I believe that if you can do any/all those things God (assuming there is one) will Bless you. PEACE!
