Some of the money, collected by actual churches, goes to paying church costs...electric, utilities, pastors etc. They also have funds specifically designated for the poor. Then some goes to scholarship funds, money for youth groups and money to help those who need assistance to maybe participate in church retreats or field trips.
I belong to the Catholic Church. I know for a fact that Catholic Charities is the number one contributor to the needy in the US. As far as other churches...such as the ones started in the basement of some self-appointed pastor...it's anyone's guess as to what is done with that money.
I do believe that most of the churches and religious groups give a great deal of money to helping others.

God does not collect that money, God has no need for money. Some humans collect the money for churches and a lot of times the money is spent on other things!

He gives it to people who will feed the hungry, provide clothing and shelter for the homeless, build wells for people in 3rd world countries where the surface water is unsafe to drink, provide and send medical supplies and doctors and dentists to help people in 3rd world countries, and so very much more.
Perhaps you can help? There is World Aid, Feed The Children, and so many more organizations that are doing these things with the money people send in.

You mean the different churches? Some use it to support their churches..other use it to support both their churches and charities. All use it to do what they percieve as Gods work on earth.

I know at my church its used for paying rent,for evangelism, and church events such as revival, guest speakers,concerts,plays.My pastor will even show you exactly how much money was given and where every cent goes.
