Hi Everyone,

This is a continuation of a series of questions/updates. See my profile for more info.

I'm happy to report that Spider was back at the barn last night when I went to class. As suspected, she had been hiding in another building on the property. She's doing just fine -- in fact, she's plumper (somebody's been feeding her!). We plan to have her spayed after the first of the year, since she was intent on not showing up for her last appointment.

My question today is -- is there any way to make a cat realize that a particular building, regardless of whether or not there are people there, is "hers"? The ranch owners want her in our building to help control the rodent population.

Thanks a bunch,
Bunni

Cats know a place is theirs by scent. Where her bed and litter box are is hers. People who keep the cat's area too clean are saying 'you don't live here.' Don't doodat.

As long as you put feed in the barn for her, she'll stay near by. But she's probably a nomad.......going from one barn to another looking for mice and birds to eat.

You could put all of its possesions and cat bed/ litter trays in there and put a load of cat toys in the building.

Counter-intuitive but you have to feed her and leave water for her in that building.
