I dont understand what you are wanting? Take legal action for what? I had a somewhat similar situation a year ago. I look at the funeral as a release from dealing with someone who is a user. Now that we have no relative living I dont have to see this relative.

sorry to hear about your loss, but if you know what coroners office or funeral home has the body go there and talk with them and you and your siblings can go without your sister you are blood kin also. Then with your mom's funeral is over it is up to you weather you want to cut all ties to your controlling sister. I also have a controlling sister and I know where you are coming from.

So you have no way of knowing just where your mom is? The reason I ask this is if you know which coroner's office she is at, you could at least call or visit that office and find out stuff that way. You are a blood relative and have the right to inquire.

Did you try posting your question in the legal section? Also, I would suggest contacting an attorney and just asking a few questions. Never hurts to be educated. Also, try this site:

Sorry for the loss of your mom. Seek God for guidance. Take it one day at a time. Get through the funeral. Seek help afterwards.

go to probate court and file a claim.

watch the obits for time and place of wake and funeral.
(call the funeral homes and ask for time of funeral for _____.)

if your aunt gets taken, shame on her.
although i doubt if she has money, she will be easily rooked.
