That depends entirely on which medication you are referring to. Some are destroyed by alcohol, some interact with alcohol to create a dangerous situation, and some are heightened in effect when mixed with alcohol.....this can also be dangerous. Suggest that you discuss your particular medication with your doctor and see if he advises any kind of alcohol consumption while on your particular medication

Depending on the medication, by taking alcohol you may amplify the desired effects, decrease the desired effects, alter the parts of the body system that the medication was to work on or have a range of possibly harmful side effects and drug interactions that could lead to strokes, seizures, bleeds and even death. Although alcohol does not interact with all drugs you should talk to your pharmacist before using alcohol while taking medicines, including over the counter drugs like allergy meds, pain killers etc..

I think that most doctors recommend that you not drink ANY alcohol when you are taking ANY kind of medication.

It can react in your body and make you sicker. You might want to lay off until your sickness is gone.
