The only scriptures that make any kind of sense and are based on science are the Hindu scriptures called Vedas. All rest are adulterations of the Vedas in one form or another. All the rest were written after the Vedas. All carry stories/concepts that mentioned in the Vedas. Scholars and men of science have read them through history and commented on the Hindu culture. No sane person has made a derogatory remark about the Vedas.
Robert Oppenheimer, known as “the father of the A-bomb” was asked, by a newsman, about a nuclear explosion. Oppenheimer then recalled the part from the Bhagwat Gita when Arjuna asked Lord Krishna to show his true form. Oppenheimer said that he felt the same as when Arjuna saw the Universal form of Krishna.
Lord Rama and Krishna lived!! Their teachings are simple enough for the average person but too complex for the simple minded.
Lord Jesus too lived after he was supposed to have been crucified. He spent the rest of his days in Shrinagar, Kashmir. Would a fundamentalist Christian believe this?
People in favour of destroying the Ram Setu are in it just for a fat profit. When that is done and destroyed they will turn to another part of the finely balanced world ecology.

Irrespective of what Karunanidhi thinks, in my understanding, Ram and Krishna were historical persons, although I'm not sure they were totally human.
I've studied Indian Mythology for many years, and it agress well with Genesis chapter 6 where it says that Angelic beings came to live upon this earth. If Hindu mythology is understood from that viewpoint, its absolutely true. This is further corroborated by the findings of Zacharia Zitchin and VAn Daiken concerning civilisations in the Middle east.

Memory fades with time. People embellish stories. Biographies have errors. History has inaccuracies.
If a story is told and retold it gets distorted over period.
So newer the story less distortions. Further provable facts, that majority of people will believe is easy to accept than a harebrained crap.
I am a Hindu, I believe in Ram & Krishna. Do I believe in all stories, NO. I choose it myself, i believe the philosophy tahn the historical details.
If economics and environmental conditions demand that we do some innovative things, please dont muddle it with some mumbo jumbo about being written in some books.
Do not put God in your scientific or economic arguments.
Look at social problems in todays light, be realistic.

Who are they(those politicians) to say something? And why do you react to those idiots? It is a great sin to react to that politicians, fanatics, idiots!
Truth is always truth, it cannot be changed. We all have to go to truth, truth will never come to anybody. Lord Rama and Lord Krishna are truth, they are Avataras, they reach the earth to do good for humanity and to take people on the correct path.
People like Lord Rama and Lord Krishna, Jesus are the only truth, we are all just running after sense-pleasures and materials, we all are slaves of passion, slaves of nature, we are having uncontrollable mind, dirty habits, are we human? We are more like animals, we are false!
Only true people are those who can control their mind, are free from sexual thoughts, free from greed, fear, etc. Other people who lack these are just animals(slaves of nature), and one should not care nor react to these peoples words!

Whether Rama or Krishna really existed or not is irrelevent to a Christian. You have every right to believe your holy books, just as we do. I think God is bigger than most of us give Him credit for.

friend venky, according to the bible, Jesus, the son of God was sent to earth to save the people from sin. as Jesus himself was sinless, being the son of God, he had no death, so His soul rose from the dead, and He is believed to be alive even today.
Lord Rama and Krishna are incarnations of vishnu. they took form on earth for special purposes, to destroy the evil. they were born as humans and after they accomplished the purpose of their form on earth, their soul went back to heaven.
these politicians talked about things they know of little. later they found themselves in big trouble, speaking those words. i dont want to say more about those politicians, because, silence is golden !!

I am a Christian, and a pretty orthodox one at that, but I don't necessarily disbelieve the legend of Krishna. Or even that he was an incarnation of God (Vishnu for traditional Hindus).
Are you familiar with C.S. Lewis' theology. He believed that God may have "other arrangements" with different peoples. That is, a different, culturally and perhaps racially appropriate revelation of how to be saved, or joined with God in the afterlife.
It sounds like you need to study the work of some serious Christian intellectuals rather than merely relying on your acquaintances to educate you about Christianity.

Belief in a religious doctrine is a leap of faith. It is a decision made under conditions if partial ignorance and insufficient data.
Even an atheist makes this decision (the decision not to believe). Make your leap of faith. No one's stopping you.
