10 to 20 years. the larger the breed, the shorter the lifespan and the more difficult for them to age well -- has to do with their weight on their joints among other things.

plenty of exercise and play, healthy diet, getting their shots and other basic health care (including avoiding gum disease by brushing their teeth weekly -- you can learn to do this yourself, really) are key to having a healthy pet who can be an important member of the family for many years. they will however die before we do, and part of our responsibility as their people is to not let them suffer and help them go on to wherever painlessly and with love.

I suggest you watch Cesar Millan's show, Dog Whisperer, on National Geographic TV. Wonderful show.

It depends on the size of the dog, how pure the breed is and how well it has been taken care of.

Large dogs tend to not live as long because their joints wear out. Pure breed dogs tend to not live as long because the inbreeding leads to more problems. Dog that were not given enough exercise or proper food generally do not live as long.

Some dogs live 10 years, some 20 years and you might even get one that last 30 years. I think that 30 years is about the max lifespan of a dog though.

Around 13-15 years though large dogs have a shorter lifespan because they have more medical problems. Some dogs in the past have been recorded to live up to 20-25 years before passing away.

Depends on the breed. Smaller breeds live longer, while Goldens and Labs can live to be 13-15 or so. Most will only live to 12-14 years though. But i have heard the little dogs can live to be 18 or so.

This varies by size of the dog breed etc. Samll dogs generally live longer 1.5 longer than large breeds. Many things factor into it even besides that. Inside or outside care of the dog etc. Many large breeds about 8 to 10 years. Smaller breeds often on the upside of 10 years. See the following:

It depends on what breed. Larger dogs tend to live longer (12 years on average) while smaller dogs don't live as long (usually 7-8 years)
However I had a Chocolate lab that lived 16 and a half years.

Giant breeds rarely live past 9-10, toy breeds can live to be 20. The other sizes are somewhere in the middle.

Personally- both of my dogs have died when they were 13. My current dog will be 13 in March.
