I'm half Black and half Italian and I'm noticing that a lot of minority race girls (particularly Black and Latino) are dying their hair blonde/light brown. Look at celebrities like Beyonce,Christina Milian,J.Lo, Kat DeLuna etc etc.
Personally, I think it looks ridiculous and is a way of trying to be Whiter,I'll keep my black hair thanks.
What do ya'll think?

I think white blond looks silly but high lights or something is nice. I don't think these girls are trying to be white, I just think they like being pretty like any other woman.

Well, everyone should do what makes them feel good. If they feel better with lighter hair, they should go for it. everyone that dyes their hair is obviously trying to change their appearance from the natural. I dyed my hair yesterday a red that is obviously not my natural hair color, and I am white as they come although I am Latina. I didn't want a natural look, and needed a change, and it made me feel good, so I did it.
The point is, they should do what makes them happy. And i agree with one of the answers some light skin girls tan to seem darker. Be happy, who cares what other people do.

You go girl! (or boy, cause you didn't mention). I'm tired of my race getting perms!!! I'm with you on the rocking the hair natural and adding no chemicals to it. Now about the part of it looking ridiculous, I think you're wrong on that one. Some people, like light-skinned black people (like me) would like nice with a blonde. But dark-skinned black people do look ridiculous with it. Beyonce looks nice with it.

But either way you're right!! It is a way of trying to be like the "Media's Beauty". I also think that celebrities have a big influence on people and they should be the main ones "rockign it natural' or "loving themselves the way you are". I wish more people out there think like you do.

This is a matter of taste - there is no one correct answer, but I like black hair on a matching girl. Black blonds look artificial - may as well dye your hair pink or purple while you're at it.
In the long run, natural is best. Confidence in how you look makes you more beautiful - you are on the right track.

I totally agree with you. I am part hispanic and I have really nice dark brown almost black wavy hair. I love blonde hair, but no matter how hard I try, If I were to dye my hair blonde, it just wouldn't look right on me. That is why I never did it. And it doesn't look right on those celebrities you mentioned. They should just be happy with what they are.

I don't know as a blackman and humanist, blond and brown haired blackwomen do look good, except so do some women with black and whatever other colors. I think its great that we can explore our looks in different and various ways. Why knock your sisters of color ? We don't need to player hate. Peace Hakiim8

Why do you think that way about other people? Did it ever occur to you that when they dye their hair they're doing it because they want to look nicer? It doesn't have anything to do with trying to be white. And I think it looks good on most celebrities. I mean, nicole richie is black but blonde hair looks really good on her because she's light skinned.

How about you try and be more positive?

Well, lots of hispanics are born with blonde hair. Take me for example <------.

A point to bring up is a lot of dark haired white people dye their hair blonde/ light brown. But I get what you are saying. As long as you know who you are and recognize it then its no problem.

I think you look good in black hair. I think the others look good in blonde, light brown hair. I also think that people have the right to wear their hair green if that is their desire and it is certainly none of my business, so I'm not offended by it.

I think it all depends on the skin tone, the hair style and the persons personality to be confident enough to pull off a major change to their look!

Who cares what "race" they are? We are ALL just humans that look different!
