And, to keep this on topic, do you find spiritual fulfillment from shopping at mainstream chain stores?

Very. Whoever those people are, the woman speaks too loud.

I had to mute my speakers because of it.

I muted my computer. It was waaaay annoying.

Don't these people realize that next time I think "where am I going to buy a new shirt or pair of pants?" - the very last place I will ever go is "The GAP" because of the annoyance!

I feel the same way about the print ads that cover up my "Sports" section in the L.A. Times. I make a mental note every time it happens and vow to never shop at whatever store has defiled my newspaper.

And I get nothing spiritual from shopping, period.

It is annoying and very distracting while I'm trying to read people's questions. Until you just pointed out, I didn't even know that it was an ad for the GAP, just something annoying!
I don't believe in buying Name brand products, when I can by three of the same quality for the Price of One.

I hope the GAP sees all these negative responses to their ad!

Now that you brought it to my attention, it's even more louder and really annoying, annoying and annoying. I don't even what to look at anymore questions, just not to hear or see that ad!
Hey! GAP! CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW!

It is terrible. I never want to see a Gap store ever again. I have been programmed by Yahoo to have feelings of discomfort, anger and inconvenience every time I see a GAP.

When I walk down the mall, I avoid the store, because I know I don't have much time to get my shopping done.

To keep me in line with my religious beliefs, I block all ads (so I haven't seen the ad in question). I block all pop-up ads and windows as well, for the one instance of finding an inappropriate image coming online and one of my three little ones eyeing it on accident.

I don't shop mainstream chain stores (much) either, but rather prefer to go to local establishments to help the small businessman, who happens to be my neighbor (so I'm helping them out & their family) not some corporate stock that hinges on making a profit.

Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays to you and yours!

Hate the ad.
Mainstream chain stores? Boycott Gap.

I turned the sound off, so can ignore it just as easily as all the other ads on most internet pages.
And I can't remember ever having bought something from GAP, though it's not impossible. I usually shop at thrift stores, mainly because they offer maximum variety of fashion styles and aren't stuck on a single one.

Extremely

Annoying enough that I left a comment about it on the Suggestions page and I never do that.

I listen to music all the time when on the computer and I can hear them right through Nazareth....

I know that the Gap and Old Navy are owned by the same corporation, and that I can't set foot in an Old Navy store...they give me the fear.

*shudders*

I've had to turn the sound off, the ad is driving me crazy. I've stayed away from all shopping centers and have done my shopping online this year.
