In the words of Frost:
My little horse must think it's queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.
Happy Solstice, Magley!

This year the Winter Solstice is tomorrow (22nd), but it doesn't really matter what the day the party happens on so long as it's near (usually within 3 days , but often the nearest weekend) I'll do a little "5 minute" ritual at dawn tomorrow, but the party is latter.
With a little planning you can actually figure/calculate the actual dates for the solstices yourself, but it's difficult to find it by a direct method as the rate of change in the length of day (and where the sun rises/set), is (almost) nil when approaching the solstices. It's far easier to figure out it's an equinox. On an equinox, the length of day, and the sun rise/setting locations are changing fastest. Then all you do is calculate the two dates which fall midway in between.
Don't get the bit about barbie. This anything to do with it (there is a solstice link hidden in it if you read carefully)

I believe they celebrate for several days around the solstice. It would be nice to post a question wishing them a Happy Yule, but apparently it would just get reported.

for sure all of them forgot approximately righteous interest, whose toddlers have been all at the same time "celebrating a birthday"...that they were doing so for an prolonged time earlier that i'm particular, whether it additionally befell to be while they have been all "accumulated at the same time" that devil's deed replaced into wrought. it could have been at a marriage celebration, Or it could have been at a relatives ceremonial dinner that replaced into held each and every year....? Who is conscious why that day, and doubtless 2 others suggested in scripture have been singled out by ability of Jehovah's Witnesses to point that those "Birthday" celebrations have been ALL pagan? the reality of the priority is what Lil omit Sunshine is pointing this question's interest to... "Why %. on particular days, which at the instant are not in any way offensive to God or Jesus, like a mom remembering the day of her toddlers beginning, and cherishing that day in her heart, as purely a mom can do? Or do you no longer submit to in suggestions that the announcment of Jesus' beginning replaced into given stunning interest? while Jesus replaced into born, He replaced into worshiped. possibly it fairly is certainly what it fairly is all approximately?

Since we Christians expect everyone to tell us Merry Christmas, I assume we should do the same.
Happy Solstice pagans.
I'm more a fan of the G6 myself. My buddy bought his son a used Solstice, and he got mad when I told him it was a chick car.

Well since you aren't going to be serious and respect others religious choices, this pagan is at work, because companies don't allow time off for their pagan employees and then I'm going to celebrate by worshiping my Goddess and giving thanks that people like you far away from me to keep me from committing homicide!
