is Kodak - EasyShare 12.1MP Digital Camera - Black a good camera?

i am about to buy this camera for 249 $ but i wonder if it is good or not?? give me some advises

I have never had too much luck with my Kodaks. I do have a point and shoot Kodak which I consider fair...the shutter has a little lag and the quality of picture is ok...not nearly as good as my Canon SLR Rebel.

My Kodak is the Easyshare CX7230. IT is only 4MP...but Megapixel is not the fulll story here...you need to observe the lens quality... check out Steves Camera Review (Link below) He seems to like it (if you are talking about the Z1275) its a little bulky, grainy in low light ...but looks like it is still a good bang for the buck.

You can do better, Why you need 12 megapixels I'll never know. My Sony at 6 MP gives me excellent 8X10 prints. Besides to do a lot of cropping say, your camera must have a decent lens and decent size sensor. A bunch of MP alone doesn't get it.
It's amazing that for that kind of money (I assume you mean Kodak Z1275) you are not getting an image stabilizer nor aperture/shutter priority.
I would say for just a few bucks more get a Canon S3 IS
6 megapixels, 12X optical zoom, next shot delay only 1 second, image stabilizer, aperture/shutter priority and excellent on battery life .
Check Website dpreview.com for reviews of many cameras, specifications and prices(which by the way shows Kodak Z1275 cheaper than $249-).

If you are only going to use it once in a while and don't care about picture quality, it's ok. If you want a good camera, buy a Canon.
