Yeah, I'm nostalgic- wavy lines, wavy lines....
We used to tie a sled behind the car, because there was not any really big hills where I lived and I am sure it would be totally illegal now not to mention how really dangerous it was and how probably I would discourage my own children from ever doing the same thing. (Don't try this at home please anyone.)There was not so much traffic back then as there is now.
Wavy lines.. wavy lines.....
The Christmas my grandfather died we didn't have any money for presents and no one was really in the mood to celebrate we were supposed to get a bear skin rug and a globe. Odd presents for children that were in grade school. But apparently the orders had been switched and no one knew what happened we got a hockey set, a capsula building set, a set of Leggos, and a fresh and fancy set. ( It was the eighties) Father Christmas came to our house that year and I have always loved the Christmas season and always believed in miracles ever since.

True story:
In Colorado one year when I was about 10 years old, I was at a mountainous Christmas Family Reunion at a cabin in the hills somewhere, and I was sliding down the windy snow covered road that led up to the cabin on a piece of thick hard-shell plastic sled with which I steered by dragging my feet behind me as a "drag/tilt" steering function...
As I rounded the corner...there was a four-wheel drive truck coming right at me...
I had four options as I saw in that split second...
1. I could veer off to the left...and plunge off a cliff to my death...
2. I could veer off to the right and be smashed to bits by the rocks on that side of the road...
3. I could continue on my present path and be crushed by the enormous wheels of the truck...or...
4. I could slightly adjust my course, duck my head down tight...and go straight under the jacked-up truck as if it were all a fun game...which is was to me...my parents almost poopied their pants when they saw that...I simply grinned, and laughed at how close I had come to getting maimed or killed, not yet aware at such a young age, how mighty unpleasant those alternatives would have been...
(I chose option number 4, of course...Touche!)
Happy Holidays...(33 years later...I'm still alive...isn't it great to be alive?!)
Lol...

When the tree toppled over and landed in the fish bowl.
My mom was asleep at the time and woke up as the fish bowl smashed on the floor (I saved all the fish) but it alway makes me laugh at the thought of mom jumping up and running into the fallen tree in the state of panic trying to push it back up screaming "What did you do?! What did you do?!"

Going to a toy shop in USA in 1979 and seeing and playing with all the great toys they had on sale at Christmas time. Speak and Spell was new then I think.
