I mean actively religious, not just nominally.

I'd also be interested in knowing whether atheist members ever experience any ill-treatment or prejudice, as is apparently the case in the US army.

Indeed, 'apparently' is not definite proof. That's why I said 'apparently'. It is, however, an issue that has been reported. Jeremy Hall, for example, is taking the US army to court on this issue.

Huh, I know that when I was in the RN, I was obliged to go to church all the way through training. I only knew of about ten people who were always in church along with us who hadn't actually been ordered to be there.
Aside from getting the mickey taken if someone realises you're a bible thumper, and if you can't take a joke you definitely shouldn't be in the Navy, I don't think religion enters the minds of most matelots.

most when under fire, prejudice is only brought about if you broadcast your beliefs, dint put yourself in that firing line
