sg, well I have not come here to defend decision rather I just want to exclusively hear from other Witnesses but I do not think that will be possible here.
Since you are asking, my decsion to be a Witness is so that I can serve Jehovah the True God and help with preaching of the kingdom of God. And to be a part of an amazing Christian spiritual family.

Izzy, thank you. I will take your advice on board. Yes some people here do seem a bit hostile. It is a shame that some people have to be like this but you seem to make good sense.

Congratulations!!! (((New Witness)))
Well..... I regret one thing about my baptism date.... I kept on getting worried thoughts from time to time during the program. You see, my parents were VERY opposed, and at the time of the assembly, they did not know where I was. (I can't imagine what they'd have done had they known!)
Anyway, I calmed down after reminding myself that JEHOVAH wanted me there..... It was touching, that serious step of showing everyone what has been in your heart for a long time (my baptism was delayed for almost two years), your desire to serve Jehovah forever!!!
Don't forget to carry a camera!!!!
P.S: My parents now know that I'm baptised, and the opposition has died down drastically. They can see I'm different from my cousins and they're glad about that, at least!

Congrats to you and your brother!! I've been baptized for 11 wonderful years. At 9 years old, I was baptized on September 7, 1996 at the Fort Lauderdale, FL Assembly Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. I remember, I could barely touch the bottom of the pool, so I had to tiptoe out to the center. The best advice I can give you is: ALWAYS stay close to the congregation. They really are like family and we'll all need each other's help in the near future. I hope to meet you someday....in paradise. Until then, may Jehovah continue to strengthen you as you progress in your service to Him.
Christian love,
Rachel B

Congratulations! I am very happy for you! I am glad that you had the courage to post this question regardless of the backlash that you may get due to your beliefs! I feel a sense of pride when people make the dedication to serve Jehovah our Lord And Savior. By reading some of the posts, I can't believe anyone would think that we are part of a cult whereas, anything that are in the Watchtower or discuss in our meetings, is referenced directly from the Bible. I wish some people would put aside the rumors that they heard about our group and start to investigate for themselves. I think some people are skeptical by us calling our Lord and Savior Jehovah but it is right in Psalm 83:18 that is God's name. Don't let anyone deter you from the right path and it comes with the territory that there will be those that will try to persecute you for loving Jehovah.

How very exciting for you!!
I remember when I got baptised in 98 at the International Convention. It was like the happiest day of my life. I was so nervous. There was over 200 getting baptised so the queue was really long.Anyway, when I came up from the water I was overcome with tears.I couldnt help it - just think that Jehovah God counts me worthy of being called after his great and holy name. And that I have the priviledge of being counted worthy to be called one of HIS witnesses!! It was the greatest feeling.
I hope your day is just as wonderful and unforgettable.

Congratulations my new brother or sister.
My wife and I were baptized last March after studying for almost three years. I remember the day, but unfortunately the details are blurred in my memory. I do know that I was very happy and the first thing that I saw after coming up out of the the water was the couple we had studied with. They were probably as filled with joy as we were and I now understand why.
If possible, have someone record the baptismal talk (I wish I had) and make sure someone is taking lots of pictures.
Be prepared for Satan to increase his attacks. Remember what happened to Jesus after he was baptized. Put on the full suit of armor.
I will leave you with Matthew 28:19,20
Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded YOU. And, look! I am with YOU all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.”

I have been baptized since I was 13. That was 6 years ago now and it is the best decision I ever made. It truly did keep me on the straight and narrow knowing that I had made a promise to Jehovah and I have intended to keep it. Continue your progression (because we all know that baptism is only one step among many) and surround yourself with those that TRULY love Jehovah. By doing this you can't go wrong. You will feel the love from your brothers and sisters when they clap in unison to welcome you as a baptized brother or sister. Trust me from this point on it only gets better!!! Allow that spiritual high that you have now to guide you through many fulfilling years. Although I will not be there this is for you....... (clapping). WELCOME!!!

Congratulations on your baptism!
I was baptized on Sunday 09-27-1992. The day was overcast, temperature around 40 degrees. I had not experience anything so wonderful in all my life. I do indeed cherish my relationship with Jehovah God.
A personal thing that happened on this day was my father who is not a Witness came to the circuit assembly day and saw me get baptize. He is not a witness as of today, but he is favorable towards my brother & mother who were baptized in March 1992.
Best Wishes to the best decision you made for your life!

I am so thrilled for you. It is such a warm and loving experience.
My husband and I were baptized on the same day, Jan 6, 2001 at the Daytona Beach Assembly Hall.
I was so excited, and I tried to listen closely to what the brother was saying to us but now I truly wish I would have taped it too.
I remember the excitement with the other ladies in the changing area, once we were baptized and changing back into dry clothes. Happy Day!
I also remember praying very hard to Jehovah to please let us make it to the hall, to not let the car breakdown or for us to not get sick etc...
Matt 7:7,8 Keep on asking and it will be given you; keep on seeking and you will find; keep on knocking and it will be opened to you. (8) For everyone asking receives and everyone seeking finds and to everyone knocking it will be opened.
Don't listen to the nasty things said on here by some. They are lost or confused.
Matt 12:36,37 I tell you that every unprofitable saying that men speak, they will render an account concerning it on Judgement Day (37) for by your words you will be declared righteous and by your words you will be condemned.
We are one big, worldwide, loving family and welcome you to it.

I was baptized as a teenager many years ago, and still remember the happiness that comes from knowing that I was entering upon a life of service to our loving heavenly Father, Jehovah.
I was just as excited to have a student baptized this year at our District Convention with the vital theme,"Follow the Christ."
The Lord Jesus identified himself as the "Faithful and True Witness" (Revelation 3:14), thereby setting the example for us.
Being on Jehovah's side puts us in opposition to Satan, so expect opposition.
But being on Jehovah's side brings us His love, His protection, and the joy of knowing the happy God.
Congratulations!

Good job...I was baptized in 1984. I know how you feel.
Keep your zeal, reach out for further privileges. If a brother, strive to serve as a M/S, then an elder. Perhaps Aux. Pioneer or Regular Pioneer?
Keep up the good work, Jehovah is proud of you.
