I stand corrected! After re-reading and researching, I understand that the Nephilim were the hybrids of the fallen angels....it was the "fallen angels" who de-materialized and returned to the spirit realm...NOT the offspring of them who were hybrids, half-human and half spirit creature, so being "fleshy" they [nephlim] perished along with the rest of mankind in the flood.
Whew!!! I hope I presented it right this time, and if I didn't, brothers and sisters...please feel free to correct me.

Elaina, start reading Genesis chapter 6 thru Genesis chpater 8. It tells about the "fallen angels" or spirit sons of God who left their proper station in heaven to have intercourse with the women on earth, who later gave birth to "hybrids" who were larger than the average person.....they were violent and caused much badness on the earth.
Please read it, it is very interesting and you will learn a lot about the days of Noah and how our times are a parallell to those of Noah. Hopefully you will share your knowledge with others.

Don't worry Sis, it's what's in the heart that counts. We do our best to relate the material correctly, once in a while, we make a mistake, admitting that is 90% of the battle.
Enjoy your evening!
I have meeting tonight and don't want to be late.

You must be corrected once more!
But first-congrats on you accomplishment.

Now here is the "correct way" to say what you found out= "...the Nephilim are thought by some scholars to be hybrids of women and fallen angels. The term "sons of God" in Genesis 6:2 is believed to be these fallen angels. However, other scholars believe that the "sons of God" are a godly line of humans and are the descendants of Seth.

In the Bible Nephilim are proof that the Jews during the time of Noah were accepting of the legends of mythology.

The Greek gods were derived as an explanation to the giant fossils found in Greece. It romanticized their beliefs to be descended from giants (gods), they had the fossil proof.

Now how were the Jews during the that time supposed to know that the legends were fabricated, but they too had also trusted them, that there were men descended from actual giants.

In fact much of the story of Noah may be based on mythology itself. There are many deluge mythologies that closely parallel the story of Noah. It may not have been Greek mythology for there are similar stories in Egyptian, Sumerian and Babylonian flood myths. The Greek flood myths probably evolved around the same time as the story of Noah.

At least in all the stories, the flood was to destroy mythic demigods.

You presented it right for the few folks who believe that the Nephilim were the offspring of fallen angels and humans.
But most of the Christian world believes that the Nephilim were the offspring of the descendents of Cain and Seth, and that they weren't supernatural at all.

ok this is an interesting topic actually... contrary to what you have been taught.... the sons of god saw the daughters of cain... the sons of god were the sons of seth and the daughters of cain were the daughters of cain... angels cannot reproduce they are eunichs and have never possessed a fleshly body....in doing a hebrew study you will find that the mighty men of it speaks of were of old blood from the line of cain...giants didnt mean large in size .... giants in hebrew mean tyrants or bullies .... in the account of golaith we see it mentions his size and him being a giant.... there is a difference... also the fallen angels are in chains awaiting judgement... they do not walk the earth... demons are from the preadamic world... the people who followed and served lucifer the angel who became satan... i can provide you the proof if you need to see it... just let me know.... very interesting though
