If there is a Christian God, and He relies on Christians to spread the Gospel to those who haven't heard, what would that same Christian God do if Christianity disappeared from the face of the earth. No Christians, No Gospel Message. Would He then be forced to "show" Himself?

Captain Atheism: That's my point indeed. The only reason people believe is because someone else told them too. If there weren't anyone here to "spread the gospel" so to speak, would God prove Himself then to make sure that people knew He existed.

I think this scenario could happen and is closer than you think.

As more and more people begin questioning their Christian faith, more and more people are going to come to the realization that they've been lied to and lead astray. I do believe there is a God, but it's not the God of the Christians. If the biased voice coming from that group of people were removed, we would be able to see the Creator.

According to the bible, he used to show himself all the time.

Those folks didn't need faith. They got to see god.

The rest of us get screwed I guess. God is playing hide and seek with us, and the only reason we are given to believe god exists, is because somebody said so.

It really is unfair. .. (pout)

I believe that there is a God and this God does not rely on christianity to spread the message of fellowship and humanity, that is a trait that is inculcated in everyone no matter what the faith, its just that there are those that choose to ignore. So if some how all christians got sucked into some hole and it just left everyone else, God would still show himself through other peoples good wil and love. Christians aren't God's people, all people are God's people.

Gypsy, if you believe this scenario can happen, I think you are naive. The persecution of the early Christians under the Romans and Jewish leaders made them subject to death, and many were thrown in arenas with wild animals, burned at the stake, and subjected to all kinds of torture. Yet, with all of this going on, the Christian faith continued to grow stronger, and the number of converts increased.

The only way I can see your scenario coming true is if all the Christians were massacred.

Just adding my two cents.

If there were no Christians on this Earth, the world would be destroyed. The only reason God is sparing the rest of you is because we're here.

"God" is merely the Source of Divine Energy. God was there before Christians, and will be there after Christians. The perceptions that humans have of this Divine Energy may change. But the Divine Energy never changes.

I believe God has done enough of proving himself for this world. How can we be so selfish as to think God has to come and do something for us?

In a place where there are no Christians (and others) and God, you will be in the Lake of Sulfur burning with the Devil and his evil people. God Bless!

The usual assumption is that it would either be protected, or the Lord would send another prophet and start things up again.
