Go to a health food store (either a small mom&pop type place or even whole foods) and ask them for recommendations. They should have natural sleep remedies.

Taking sleeping pills is a really, really bad idea--and can cause all sorts of problems.

There are herbal preparations that help one relax. You can also try aromatherapy--lavender is good for relaxation. Try getting a sound machine with a timer to go off after an hour or so. You can also try some restorative yoga poses, such as savasana (corpse pose), child's pose, and "legs up a wall" (lie on your back in bed, scootch your butt to where the bed hits the wall, and put your legs up. Make sure there's a pillow under your head). Concentrate on breathing through your nose. For other restorative poses, check out a book called "Yoga in Bed."

Concentrate on relaxing and shutting off your mind, and that might help you sleep better. Also, lay off the caffeine at least eight hours before you sleep.
