I like to do alot of reading and research. So deciding what label to give myself is fustrating. If I had strong beliefs that rules are rules it doesn't matter who died on the cross to was away those sins for me to continue having to ask for forgivness. What if I believed that we should all be punished according to our sin in order to regret and seek forgivness. (like a child we must be taught there are conciquences for our actions) and that life after death is set up as stages like mythology or Dante sets for purgatory. And that there is only One God and he has assigned generals to govern our existance and mold us into what we need to be. Yes he is merciful, yes he is forgiving, but for every action there is a reaction that we don't consider when we commit our sin. We just let it go like a balloon up up and away. What if..... Jesus is the devils way of making fun of us before God. What if we made him bigger than he was suppose to be heck in christianity he is one with God like an equal

It's not a matter of, I hadn't thought this through. I've been holding silently fast for nearly 15 yrs. The structure of life beyond what we cannot see is what facinates me. How "they" co-exsist. Visualizing Gods enviro., & his work, enables me to understand my place in the "chain of command". I never said there was no Jesus I simply questioned his impact, beyond the novel which contradicts itself between testiments. "Old School" beliefs just seem more realistic. In fact we could've been biologist in the garden of eden, but creed cursed us to be rapist of the earth. A recent re-reading of the bible has revieled responsiblity and social status. We are the ants of heaven, our contribution smaller, because we fail to come together as ONE. What God really intended. Adding Christ in the role "we" have laid him in is like a wrench in the system that is why I question the "point of view" of Jesus Sacrifice. I'm led to believe we missed the real meaning?

Why do you believe the things you do believe? What logical reason do you have for thinking that way? what proof do you have that this is the way it is?

I'm not being facetious or mean - I really want to know whether you've also asked yourself these questions in addition to the ones you've already gone over. Obviously you're putting a lot of thought into this, which is great! But are you considering the question from all sides, or just the side that feels the most comfortable to you right now? If you're only being one-sided about this, have you asked yourself whether it's fair to you to be one-sided, and what may be keeping you locked into your present mode of thinking?
:)

Start with writing out your moral attributes and values also the things you believe in and what you are willing to do within that religion, then decide which is the closest beliefs to you and read up on it, cross anything off which you do not agree with or feel strongly against, if you have three things or more which you don't like it is not the religion for you. Blessed Be.

The only thing you need to concern yourself with is whether or not you have repented of your sins, asked God to forgive you and then live for Him through the power of the Holy Spirit. If you have done these things and are currently living for the Lord, you are a CHRISTIAN, the one & only "label" you will ever need. All the denominations there are were not ordained of God, but were created by man to put them into a certain category, according to what parts of the Bible they want to accept, and the parts that don't fit their chosen life style.

I don't think you discover what religion you are: rather, you work towards a theology or philosophy based upon your study, analysis, and, often, the pig-headedness of your parents and friends. Ultimately, what you determine is something that works for you, but that might fall outside conventional "belief". If enough of you feel that way, you form your own cult, or religion, or denomination of an existing one (i.e. Protestants, Fundamentalists, Shiia, Sunni, Orthodox, etc...)

what your question i do not like when i read that kind of text in which what if what if
and you see (like jesus what ever it is that is not my point ) give his life for nothing there was a purpose behind that scene hidden so that we make our-self finding the truth.which is you are here to find God and then you have to find the purpose of your birth so
what is that it is not only to ask for mercy and forgiveness it is much more than that note::::::it could be possible you don not like the above text

Decisions, decisions. It must be so hard for believers to choose between the 22 major religions.

Man left to his own thinking will devise his own ways that will lead him into destruction. That is why I choose to let God tell me what he wants from me in scripture. I know the true boundaries and where they lie. You will never know them because they are made up by you.

Don't label yourself, then. You don't need a religion in order to have a set of beliefs.

I suppose that "finding out what Religion you are" is a lot like accidentally discovering that you are Gay. It may not be a conscious choice for you.

But, Mine is, for ME. My "religion", Atheism, I mean.
