A basement doesn't sound large enough to accomodate 100 people. There are laws in most states to prevent disasters in the unfortunate event of fire or some other unforeseen event. Don't mean to rain on your party but perhaps you can tone it down a bit.
Your decorations depend on the type of party your having. Is it a Christmas Party, New Years, Birthday? In any case, at this time of the year a decorated tree lights up a room. All the colors of the season, reds, greens, white all add to the festive mood whether in lights, ornaments, or ribbons.

Get creative!

What kind of party are you having? You might want to get a few banners and streamers. The same store that sells those will probably also have festively-colored table clothes.

When decorating for the reception after my wedding, my mother used glass bowls full of colored marbles and water, with floating candles. She also used confetti and glitter.

Since it is the holiday season, it shouldn't be too hard for you to find festive greenery- either real or artificial.

Good luck, and have fun!

Get creative- take construction paper and make ring streamers. Ya know just cut them into strips and then ring them around eachother. Print stuff from your computer. I mean if your parents are having 100 people over your house must be big and if thats so then you probably have money so whats the prob?

Turn your basement into a winter wonderland. Make snowflakes out of plain white paper, then hang them from thread from the ceiling at varying lengths, the lowest being just above your head.

streamers are cheap and easy to set up. depending on your part theme, you could get posters, or other wall hanging to break up the entire white room. as long as you have food and drinks i dont think people will care much what is on the walls.

Come up with a theme. Candles are always good because they add ambience.
