Put boiling water in a bowl that you can get your face over. Add a few drops of eucalyptus oil. Put your face over and cover your head with a towel. Breath in the steam for ten minutes or as long as you can stand.

It should help with clearing the congestion and phlem.

You could also eucalyptus oil in a warm bath if you have a fever.

Go in the bathroom. Close the door. DO NOT TURN THE FAN ON. Turn the shower on as COLD as you can, as HARD as you can, and sit there for at least ten minutes longer than it takes you to be able to 'breathe better.' You may need to go in every hour or two, but this is really the BEST WAY to 'clear your congestion' ... it's fast, it's relatively inexpensive, and it WORKS. Beware of 'decongestants' ... some work on people, others don't. If you do need more help, consult your doctor in the morning ... but to get sleep tonight, just sit in the bathroom (NOT IN THE SHOWER) with the water running as cold as possible, as hard as possible from the SHOWER HEAD.

Until you can get to a doctor, try going to the pharmacy and getting some Mucinex. It's an over the counter medication that'll loosen up all the mucus so that'll it come out easier. Also, see if the mucus is colored - if it's yellow or green, then you have an infection and need to talk to your doctor immediately about getting on an antibiotic.

First off, midterms have nothing to do with it. If you are sick, you are sick. Call your professor now and make arrangements to take the test later. Don't take no for an answer. If he/she gives you a hard time about it, go up the chain of command. Ask who you should speak with personally when you feel better.

Second, take a Benedryl (25-50mg) and GO TO BED. Take a glass of cold water with you for when you wake up and get thirsty. If you are serious about not being able to breathe, take the telephone with you and have 911 on speedial!

Hope you feel better. XOXO

Seriously, go to the drug store, and pick up some meds!

I just picked up a pack of Alka Seltzer Plus cold medicine, that has daytime and night-time versions. I slept like a rock last night, and have been mostly sneeze/phlegm free for the whole day.

Go to the hospital, doctor or something. It will be bad missing a mid-term and making it up. :-{ Good Luck. If it is that bad and the medicine doesnt help really GO TO A DOCTOR OR THE HOSPITAL. NOW.
