It's a regular yellow cake, frosted, with design. 1/4 sheet; weather predicted to be low 31. I picked up the cake from the grocery store about an hour ago. It will go with my son to his daycare tomorrow morning. Anything wrong with just keeping it in the car all night? This would save me time, sanity (don't want my son to see it), and space.

It's cold here - I said the weather will be low 31. It wouldn't get above 40 for the time it will be in the car. I don't think this cake technically needs refrigeration. It's a typical store-made yellow cake with white frosting. No cream cheese, no milk, no ice cream.

Yep! It'll be fine. I leave food in the car overnight all the time in the winter. I live in Ohio and the temperature is SO low, it's literally colder than my fridge anyway.
:-)

as long as there isn't going to be any heat (which.. it's december so hahaha i think thats out of the question) it will be just fine! : ] we leave cake out on the counter a lot at my house, with frosting and such, and it's always fine. I think a car might even be better because it would be below "room temp".

: ] I hope he loves the cake hehehe!

Sure, you can leave it in the car over night. It will stay good and fresh in the cold weather, now the if it was summer...I say no.

It's like putting it in the fridge. As long as the temp isn't above 41 F you should be fine.

depends what ingredients u used, and how much of it you used.
for example, if u used milk, that's a big no-no.
u also gotta look at the volume of liquid that's in it.
try leaving it in a closed-air space, where bacteria can't grow.
