There is only a legal obligation for, I believe, HIV/AIDS to tell your partners. However, ethically, you should tell them.

I don't know if there are any legal obligations, but I think that there are moral ones.

It is not an easy thing to do, but you really should tell any partners that they should get checked. That way you can minimize the number of people it gets passed to.

Check out the last couple of episodes in the first season of the TV show 'Grey's Anatomy'. One of the main characters has a similar situation and it is dealt with in a humouous manner.

There isn't a legal obligation but if you search 'Michael Vick Herpes' or 'Robin William herpes' there there are news stories where ex girlfriends have sued and won undisclosed amounts stating that the men knew of their herpes but failed to disclose.

I'm not sure if the woman actually won the cases or were just paid off to 'go away and be quiet'. It's interesting reading nonetheless...

as far as i know i don't think people are obligated legally to tell anyone that they have herpes since it is their choice to tell who ever they want. i think it should be a legal obligation but people will lie to get what they want.
