I am making a home made tomato basil soup
shrimp cocktail
lump crab cakes
fettucini alfredo
some type of garlic bread
chocolate melting cake with fresh whip cream
sounds nice and should be a really simple change from the traditional.

We were going to have a ham, but my husband suddenly said "Let's have veal!" No arguments here. So it's going to be veal piccata, garlic cream cheese mashed potatoes, bacon gravy, homemade stuffing with fresh sage, grilled asparagus with hollandaise, and a mixed green salad with balsamic vinaigrette and feta. That should stuff the two of us!

ham, rice pilaf, mashed potatoes and gravy, banana nut muffins
I'm Chinese, so we really don't celebrate Christmas. I'm making this meal because my husband's grandma is coming to visit our son and she doesn't have any real teeth. Therefore, the food needs to be quite soft for her to eat.
