Please do not say feliz navidad... i already know that. But how do you say "Have a good christmas" or something to that effect. or Have a blessed christmas...something like that?

Nobody says "Que tenga una buena Navidad"

You have to say:
¡Que pases una feliz Navidad!
But if you don't want to say te word "feliz"...
¡Que pases (tengas) una bonita Navidad!
¡Que la (lo) pases muy bien en esta Navidad!
¡Pásatela (pásatelo) bien esta Navidad!

yes your right but just switch the words around a bit.
Tenga una buena navidad! if your talking to a person younger then you would say (Ten) but in order to be respectful to your elders or those that are not really close friends then you would say (tenga). but really it spanish it sounds better to say when your leaving or saying bye (que tenga una buena navidad!)

Merry christmas!
Feliz Navidad!
Just stick to this if I were you it sounds better besides it's more common.

first, that "navidad" ia a female noun and it would be "una navidad"..but expressions are never translated literally..and we simply say:

Feliz navidad ( happy christmas)

hope that helped!
