If I can prove that a 29 year old man dated a 16 year old girl, should I turn this person into the proper authorities? Does it qualify this person as a sexual predator/offender? I have several myspace comments printed out that confirms the relationship. Do I need more than this? I only know his first name. I can't stand people like this, but I'm not sure where I should go to turn this person in. Or if I even can...Any suggestions??

If you report it I am sure this girl will hate you the rest of your life. If you are doing this to get even with her for some reason, then your probably disturbed. It is wrong in all accounts. But I do not think I have ever known a 16 year old that doesn't make there own decissions. Some are wrong and some are right. Its part of growing and learning through life. A pedophile would be described as a person that preys on little kids. There is a major difference between a 16 year old boy or girl and a child. Just ask them.

Just to expound on Adeptus's response. If the E-mails do not indicate a sexual involvment then the police have very little reason to pursue the matter. If there are sexually explicit references or outright requests for sex then there is cause for concern and the man could be arrested as a pedophile. (this is what they get all those pervs on "to catch a predator" with)

A 29 yo being attracted to a 16 isn't an example of pedophilia. A pedophile is attracted to children i.e. kids that are pubescent or pre-pubescent.

depending on the age of consent in your state, it may not even be a crime. in our state the age of consent is 16. they can have sex with whomever they want (except children of course) at the age of 16. so if I was 111 years old and dated a 16 year old, there is nothing LEGALLY wrong with that. morally, yes. but not LEGALLY.

With your concern being the young daughter of his current girlfriend, why don't you let her know, and that way she knows to keep a eye on her daughter? Also watch him closely and be ready to help by reporting him if something is going on that shouldn't be.

i think so they will bait this guy and catch him in the act. this is preaditory behavior there is no way a 16 year old could compare in maturity to a 29 year old. and what a looser he is. why istn he worried about a real life? it dosent matter what others say this behavior is illegal my bet is most who say dont are 16 yr old who would resent this action. but looking back i wish that old men would have stayed away from me at that age, they wanted nothing good.

The Age of Consent is different in each state. What is the age of Consent? Is the "offender" a teacher, is the 16 year old his or her student?

Well, my uncle met my aunt when he was 26 and she was 16, that was 22 years ago, and he married her when she was 18, and they have a great life together.
So would you want to mess something like that up?

mind your F'n business dude! 16 years olds look older than my old as-s and they know what they do. Save the predatory offenses to men who REALLY violate kids against their will...there's a huge difference there.
