Hi, I don't think thick hair does grow faster. If anything it grows thicker. With thick hair the best remedy is to have it thinned out at the hairdressers. They'll get rid of the bulk which always seems to be on the top and back. Then it'll start to grow down. If she's not happy, she won't be happy till it grows out of it's present style. Check this website out to see what style would suit her. She should definitely go back to the hairdressers and get something different otherwise she'll just feel worse everytime she looks at it.

No, what you said is not correct.The faster growth of hair depends on specific hormones which result into faster growth and thickness of hair has doesn't decide this phenomenon.
