Every year we have a christian New years eve party. We have all the families and kids over at the house. At 12:00 we "toast" in the new year. For something different, what about having communion? Our pastor is here. He could do it for us. We would be starting the new year with Christ.

We are told in the Bible to have communion as often as we meet. It would be a great way to start the new year. That would do more good than any resolution.

Remember, GOD loves you even when you don't love Him!

Gotta go with Mike on this one. Don't think a party is exactly the right setting for a communion service.

The Lutheran church also has a New Year's Day service, and many have a New Year's eve service.

Hello,

Well the Roman Catholic church comes closest to your suggestion since they have mass on New Years Day which is a holy day of obligation for them.

The only problem is that communion must be done and served reverently at a church service situation but not at a wild New Years party that has great drinking, wenching and debauchery at times.

I think it is awesome! What a way to bring in the new year, with a new start in your life.
Since people try to take the meaning of Christmas out of Christmas... Lets connect New years into the season and claim OUR season back

I would think of the irony of celebrating the future with an anachronistic symbol of superstition
