My friend slept one night in jail for being drunk in public?
I know that doesnt make him a criminal, but I am not sure what regulations there are. He just paid a fine and didnt appear infront of the judge and they didnt take his fingerprints.. He applied fo a job abroad and he needs to get the proof of a clear criminal record..Is that going to show up in his record. Can anyone answer me please.

Again it appears there are different strokes in different jurisdictions.
In our state, you do not have to be fingerprinted to get a record. Misdemeanors that you either plead guilty to or are found guilty of by a judge appear on your record. Felonies do as well.
NCIC records do require a fingerprint submission, but a records check, depending on who does it and how it's done, will reveal misdemeanor offenses. Frequently, both those that you are convicted of as well as those that you weren't will show up. The charges themselves show up and then the disposition is shown. Thus, those you were not convicted of should carry a notation that they were dismissed, you were found not guilty, etc.

The only thing the hiring company wants to make sure of is if he has any felony crimes or serious misdemeanors on his record. Drunk in Public is not going to stop him from getting the job even if the petty offense is on his record, which it may well not be.

No, it should be classified as a misdemeanor and is not a criminal act. His records should still be clean.

Most likely not. Public Drunkenness is at most a misdemeanor, and misdemeanors do not follow you outside of a jurisdiction, or county, or state, depending on his location.
