For sure there are some beautiful things in life, I'm not so jaded to believe it's all bad. But for every smile and happy life story, there are at least equivalent sad ones. For every safe journey, there's a bomb going off somewhere, for every healthy baby, there's a dude in some alley about to pull the trigger. The world is a big, big place and murder, corruption, unfairness, and greed happen every day along with the rest. My question is, is God responsible for all this, too? Did God make it so one person is born with a disability, while another is blissfully unafflicted? Is he the one who allows one guy to inherit a million bucks, and another to struggle all his life for a decent meal? Or is it some one else? something else?
And even if so, why would God allow that? Unless he wanted it? And then, why the heck would he want it if it didn't have to be that way?
I'm just .. really curious to see what you have to say about this.

Yea, the god of Abraham maketh all that is good and all that is evil. He may smite thee with his almighty unseen hands, or lift thee up unto the heavens on angels' wings, there to bask in his eternal glory.

Facetiousness aside: There is no god and no devil. We are primarily responsible for whatever good or bad we do to ourselves and the planet we live in. Those situations, events, and circumstances which occur that are unexplainable (why one human is seriously disabled while another is blissfully healthy)? I don't know if we'll ever have definite answers for them. That's why "God" was invented in the first place: To explain the unexplainable. That's just not good enough, as far as I'm concerned.

This is a very complicated question and requires a thoughtful answer. I'll do my best to make it brief. God did not create corruption, hate, bitterness... etc. God created "man" and He created man with a free will to choose good or evil. Based on the biblical teaching of Adam & Eve, one can assume that the original "man and woman" choose evil. But before you dismiss this as cliché Sunday School stuff, let's define evil as "selfishness" as opposed to some dark demonic force. It is do to man's selfish nature that there's sooo much bad in the world. So God did not create the bad stuff but because of man's choice evil exists in the world. So why does God allow it? Well, I believe, because it is by contrast we can see God in the good that man is capable of, in the same way a white speck of lint of visible on a black sweater from a long way off. God uses the corruption of man's selfish nature to show how much better "love" is over hate. Without the contrast it would be hard to appreciate it. Finally, the same basic idea pertains to the "lucky" vs. "unlucky" again, the bible says that rain falls on the righteous and the unrighteous alike, meaning while there appears to be no rhyme or reason for some misfortune to happen it is often in those times when God has the ability to show the power of love. God is NOT responsible for the bad stuff in the world but He is responsible for you asking the question. Because the thing that goes along with a free will is a desire to seek out answers... And that's a good thing. Thanks for a good question.

We hear about this free-will thing all the time and I submit to you that it is 99% wrong.
Did you "choose your parents? Your eye color, your body style, your siblings, house, land, time to live, job skills, husband/wife, etc, etc, etc.............?
Many would say that these are "biologic" - I disagree.
Do you have the capacity to love? Can you go see your elderly neighbor with a plate of cookies at Christmas?
Can you go talk with a person that is sitting in Jail?
Can you help out at the local church getting a Thanksgiving meal ready for those less fortunate?
Can you give back of your bounty and put clothes on the back of a homeless person?
Can you, in your strong and healthy body, build a shelter and put a roof over the head of a poor family?
God did not create evil or hatred or malice. WE DID! God allows us this kind of free-will to see what we are made of. So - what are you made of?

I am an atheist so I believe everything that happens to me is of my own making. Same for the world in general.

If you believe in god, I really don't see how you can't think god isn't responsible. After all, he's the one who created everything, allows people to choose badly and sin. Some may say it's Satan that causes evil, but who created Satan? God, again he is responsible.

Wow your question is Great as it is deep!

God created all things! In the book of Isaiah 45:7 God says; "I am the one who creates the light and makes the darkness. I am the one who sends good times and bad times. I, the LORD, am the one who does these things."

We don't know why God does what He does, nor is it our place to question Him of His divine will.

It is up to us to do what He asks of us.

If you know that there is pain, heartache, disease, murdering, hunger and so on - Pray for these people.

Feed someone, volunteer at a homeless shelter, read to the hospitalized . . .

God can use us to show His Glory to the masses, if we let Him.

But, think of it like this; "If everyday and everything was always great, why would we worship God?"

The things that are happening in the world are exactly what God wants to be happening -- regardless of what it is, and we are to accept His will and do what is pleasing to Him.

May God Bless You!

A lot of it is brought on by man, the other parts of your question are very difficult to give an one sided answer. It could be to look for strength with in ones self, to over come obstacle's. The rest is unknown.

All of the problems in the world are from the ruler of this world , Jehovah Gods enemy , --Satan !,. , , , and those persons that follow him.
