My bedroom is 8'-9" x 10'-8". I can't put my bed longways, without it being a VERY tight squeeze because my room isn't very wide, so the only way to put my bed is facing the closet (although I do not like the way that looks).

I'm trying to figure out how I could fit in a nightstand and dresser, and possibly even a chair without cramping up the room. I don't have measurements on the furniture yet.

Here is a floor plan of my room so you can get a feel for it. Any ideas of how to arrange my room are appreciated!!

I agree with getting the type of furniture designed for small spaces.
I always recommend unfinished real wood furniture because of its quality and lasting value. Ikea's great if you don't mind the hassle of putting it together and its short life span.

Two unfinished furniture stores I can recommend in the New Jersey area who sell the kind of furniture you need for this small space are
Gelco Woodcraft - http://www.unfinishedfurniturenewjersey.com
and Howard Hill Furniture
http://www.howardhillfurniture.com

Both also carry some real wood finished furniture, too. (It's already painted or stained.)

If you want more reasons on why unfinished furniture is the best choice and resources for finding stores in your area, check out this squidoo site - http://www.squidoo.com/unfinishedfurniture

Try getting the type of bed that sits up a little higher than standard beds. These beds can have a dresser that is 'under' your mattress. The drawers can be like 3 on each side, and one layer, for 6 drawers, or even 2 layers, for 12 drawers. That would leave more floor space that a separate dresser isn't take up. Get a headboard that is also a bookcase. You can put favorite items up there. Books, collectibles... etc.
The chair could sit in the space that would otherwise be taken up by a dresser.

If we call the window wall the west wall, try:
Head of bed against north wall, then nighttable; dresser on east wall; chair at foot of bed. Measure first.

Get a bunk bed style bed but instead of a bottom bunk put your desk and dressers under the top bunk.
