I think baked goods like cookies and fudge along with a card that expresses your appreciation for what they do. Or, a nice poinsettia or a plant would be good also, since so many people get too many sweets during this time of year, If there's a bakery near by, then a nice loaf of sourdough bread and some jams and jellies in a nice basket with a Christmasy towel to line the basket .
