Okay....this is a tricky situation.
The Israeli government has stated in the past, and Ariel Sharon himself, along with Olmert, have stated that Israeli air and ground assets could be used to strike at Iranian nuclear enrichment facilities if the US didn't act. Of course, the US did, in two ways. Now here's the "fun" part.
The first thing we did was to start dialogue at the UN, and to put "pressure" on Iran to disclose their nuclear activities immediately. Simultaneously, we started a dialogue separate from the UN with Israel. You see, Israeli and US interests are aligned in this case. I am not permitted to elaborate on the details of the "interests" in question here, due to a non-disclosure agreement I signed with a certain think tank.
The second thing that was done was the quiet shuffling of a handful of AGM-129 ACMs with W-80-1 warheads to Israel, many through Barksdale AFB. See, most of Israel's compliment of Jericho I and Jericho II missiles use materials from easily traceable sources, such as Savannah River...wink, wink. The newer W-80-1 warheads use materials from North Africa. If the goal of nuclear disarmament of Iran was not reached, then "other actions" would have to be taken...
One week, not too long ago, our team was issued Potassium Iodine for ourselves and our families. It looked like Israel was ready to strike any day. First themselves, probably in Haifa, in a false-flag operation. After that, with the support of most of Europe and the US, they could strike back at the enemy. Which in this case, would be anyone they want. First Hezbollah, then Iran and Syria. But the US was not the only one watching the situation, so were our friends in Russia. Vladimir Putin took a nice little trip to Tehran, and prevented Iran from being hit. The US and Israel can afford a war in Iran, as long as we have the support of Europe, which could only be attained if Israel was struck first, and in a dramatic manner (such as a nuclear strike). But a war with Russia is not a sane possibility. See where I'm going with this?
I want so very badly to write a piece for Harpers titled: "How Vladimir Putin Saved The World". I figured, I could get a laugh out of the title even... But to be serious again:
Israel has one of the only effective ABM systems in the world, the "Arrow". The US Patriot Missile System DOES NOT WORK. At least not well enough to protect us from ballistic warheads effectively. Not to mention the new Russian warheads that change trajectory during flight. (Vladimir Putin actually oversaw the final phase of the development of those weapons while president. Interesting, huh?) Raytheon is actually working on putting the Arrow to work for the US ABM system. Either way, Israel is protected somewhat from nuclear attack from Iranian missiles, and Iran lacks the technology to produce missiles that can hit mainland US. And now we know that Iran discontinued their efforts in 2003...so this is not really an issue anymore.
What is an issue, is that the "need" that the US sees to eliminate radical Islam can still be used to Israel's favor. Until now, no resisting force has opposed the Western market capitalism that the US employs. Not even Communism was able to resist the power of the semi-free market. Radical Islam, however, cannot be bankrupted, or disrupted with propaganda, or destroyed with trade sanctions. There is something far worse coming...and it's nothing that might imagine.
Don't worry though, the Iranian Army is not prepared to fight an air war with Israel OR the US. A ground war will become far less costly due to the air assets that would be used if Iran was to be invaded. Russia sells weapons to Iran, but not items such as the Mi-28, and certainly not the T-90, so no worries with their army. They have bought some SU-30's but they lack low-observability, so once again, the F-22s will regulate them quite quickly. They're still using technology 10 years old. Plus, the revolutionary guard is nothing to be concerned with. There are only about 125,000 of them. Back during the Iran Iraq war (when the US still backed Iraq), they weren't even able to equip them all. They told them to charge forward, in the hope that they could pick weapons up after vanquishing the enemy. It was known as the Human-wave attacks. Very bloody, and almost completely without victory. Hey, did I mention that the Iranian military has yet to make body armor "standard issue", hahahaha.
No worries, buddy. Unless you live in Iran, you'll be okay.

Point 1: The British are still in Iraq, they have handed control of the Basra District to local Iraqi Military and Police, that was the whole point of them being there in the first place, training the new Iraqi Forces in Basra.
Point 2: There are not 20 Million Iranians in the Revolutionary Guard period.
Point 3: if you followed the news the Iranians are not making nuclear weapons.
Point 4: So no need for Israel to take action at this point ion time.
Point 5: The Americans are still in charge of their sector and Al Qaeda (sons of pigs) are loising.
Point 6: you are a stupid person who cant even begin to be a Troll!

I think most sheepy Americans would believe the current reports that "The Surge Has Worked" to some extent and just believe the GOP Bushco spin of IRAN is not to have nuclear weapons that can be used on the mighty JEW ,seriously America has 10,000 nuclear bombs what real threat is Iran to my good citizens here in America The politicians have made the crazy "pledged" to Israel not the people . Iraq must stand with its neighbors I think and my America is more of a investor than a happy neighbor I can not say more about the balancing act as I am as patriotic as anyone. FREEDOM is universal as is PEACE. may Peace be patriotic to the Iraq,s.Iranians,All others LET THEIR BE PEACE. chow yours " TINKLES"

Americans are sick of fighting the Israeli wars for them with our salaries and our young American soldier's lives.
If we decide on war there will be an overwhelming protest to bombing any more countries. We need to watch out for ourselves for a while.

Yeah I doubt Iran can take 160,000 US soldiers captive, and if so it would be considered and attack and end in boom boom of Iran by a joint US and Israeli force, probably the UN too...
