North Yorkshire is definately largest.
Wikipedia uses two different tables - standard English counties by area, and the "ceremonial" English counties by area - both of which give somewhat different results:
1 North Yorkshire 8,038 km2
2 Cumbria 6,768 km2
3 Devon 6,564 km2
4 Lincolnshire 5,921 km2
5 Norfolk 5,371 km2
6 Northumberland 5,013 km2
or the 'ceremonial' list:
1 North Yorkshire 8,654 km2
2 Lincolnshire 6,959 km2
3 Cumbria 6,768 km2
4 Devon 6,707 km2
5 Norfolk 5,371 km2
6 Northumberland 5,013 km2
Lincolnshire jumps up the "ceremonial" table to 2nd from 4th, but all this really goes to prove is that one can use figures to say almost anything you like. No one claim for "largest county" is less valid than the next, it just depends which criteria you use.

I'd guess at devon, Cumbria, North Yorkshire - although Norfolk, Kent, Northumberland and Lincolnshire are fairly large too.
