The military does not need human-sandbags and this is exactly what you describe yourself to be! The military needs physically and mentally fit individuals, it is not a place for the sick, injured or handicapped! American does not send people to the front-line just to be killed, that are not able to defend themselves for whatever reason! Forget about joining the military!!!

Arthritis is a PDQ. I should know, I was diagnosed at aged 5 and at 18 tried to get in. If you cannot work in the civilian world, military life is 15 times more physically demanding.

You will have to pass a minimum physical agility requirement. If you have significant medical problems, you will almost certainly not be able to get into the Marines, and maybe not the Army either. Check with a recruiter, and they can tell you. I commend your heart though. Seems that there is nothing wrong there, and you have lots of it. Also, don't be so down on yourself, you have something to offer your country even if it's not military service, you just have to find out what it is. Good luck !

If there was ever a time to join. Join right now, as the military branches are trying to hit recruiting numbers. Try Air Force. Physical requirement is less than Army. Let the Military train you to become smart, and build your confidence. Make it a career and get pretty good benefits.

Honestly, there's a good chance that they won't even touch you if you get to the medical stage. Hate to say it, but it happens. As prior posts have said, it is more demanding that Civvie street, mentally and body wise.

With pre=exsisting health issues like what you mention, there is not chance of your being accepted to serve. The health issues would make you non-deployable, which would mean you would be unable to fufill your duty if asked.

You could get a desk job but without knowing how not smart "not smart" is I can't really tell you if you would be able to do it. I can tell you with certainty that you would not be in active duty anywhere with the conditions you described; if you physically can't do a normal job there is no way you would be able to do the whole trench thing.

If you have a lot of medical problems, chances are you won't make it in the marines.... Try the air force.

You ain't gonna cut it for the military, your medical conditions are too serious, they ain't taking in sick soldiers. Life is tough, I'm very sorry.
