Yeah, anywhere between Smithton and Devonport. Im from the Gold Coast and own property in numerous spots along there, the NW is the best part of Tassie.
Check out Wynyard, or a little town called Penguin, of course I assume you wanna live along the coast. If not there are beautiful rural areas on the NW coast also such as Gunns Plains, Riana, Sheffield, all good and not far from town or all your conveniences. All the best.

It depends what you will be doing there. Hobart is a delightful city and much much drier than the northwest coast. The Channel country and Huon valley south of Hobart are magnificent. The east coast has much to offer as does Launceston - and nowhere is really far from anywhere else. If, however, you really like rain and have a good umbrella supplier then the northwest coast is the place for you.

it really depends on what you want and what skills you have, the NW coast is having a boom at the moment and jobs are pretty reasonable depending on your skills. However any where that you choose your going to love so come on you will love this state we do.
