Tommorow, if you could snap your fingers, and make every single resident of America, a devout god-fearing christian, not a single person took drugs, all homosexuals magically disappeared, schools only taught Creationism, no music with offensive lyrics existed, nobody dressed in a gothic or punk rock or hip hop style of fashion, and nobody ever divorced....would you snap your fingers?
In other words, would you prefer to live in a flawless Christian utopian society, or do you prefer the current diversity of America, where there are a variety of beleifs, behaviors, styles of dress, music, values etc?
Simply put, would you prefer America was as sterile and innoculated against "sins" that the whole country lived in a "Leave It To Beaver" type of culture, or do you find the true beauty of America, the fact that there are so many variations on lifestyle, belief, and behavior?

No, I wouldn't. I'm a Christian, and I am a strong supporter of human liberty. People must be free to do as they please. Also, a "Leave It To Beaver" scenario sounds awful to me. I don't live my life like that, and don't expect others to, either. I enjoy diversity.

if it happened how you described it? heck no!! true Christians don't want homosexuals to disappear, but to belong to God. there is nothing wrong with Gothic, punk, and hip hop clothing (within reason). Jesus does not get rid of diversity He gets rid of evil! now if a certain "diversity" IS evil then it will be gone. so if everyone could just be a true disciple of Jesus Christ at the snap of a finger i would do it. because you would get the best of humanity's diverse culture without all the things that make us need a savior in the first place.
but since you think that being a christian is some stupid goodie goodie thing. that we walk around saying, "golly gee" or "gee that's swell", it shows that you 1. have a skewed view of righteousness and 2. that you love the evil things of this world that are a part of everyday life for people. yet you don't realize the those things are killing this world...
sexual immorality, hatred, lies, selfish ambition, pornography, envy, greed, prejudice, malice, slander, gossip, murder, strife, debauchery, fits of rage, idolatry, drunkenness, and drug addiction. just to name a few things.
so your telling me that you would not want to live in a world where you had the vast diversity of culture without the above things? okay then...i guess you misunderstood what God really wants and have made the mistake of believing people who say they are Christians and are not. a bad example is hard to overcome, but if you read in the Bible what Christians are truly supposed to be like, then you'll know better.

leave to beaver life style would be better than what we have now more Christians but we never will have flawless Christians. The thing is people are brainwashed about abortion when life, being gay, getting prayer and teaching out of the school. There has peeves, parents abusing there children. More murders in this time and teachers are not allowed to hit students. like back in 1975. but they no such thing as flawless christian.

Are you talking bout a all-Christian society or an all-moral sinless society? I dont think America is beautiful because its diverse. I admit I would prefer a world free from rape, murder, hatred, selfishness etc. Im not saying that it would be so if all people were "Christian", but I sure would like a world governed by the teachings of the bible and applied by all in love by choice.

1. I am not American, so this would not directly effect my environment.
2. What you have described does not sound like a 'flawless Christian utopian society'.
and
3. I would never do anything that would interfere with someone's right to choose what to believe (or not believe, as the case may be.) We have free will for a reason.
I would not snap my fingers.

No. For one thing I am Bisexual. So wouldn't I disappear as well?
God has set things up the way they are supposed to be. If the world were to have all the things that you said, there would still be sinners. All the Christians for instance would still be sinners. And it's not refraining from those other things you mentioned that makes a person righteous. It's having faith in Jesus Christ that makes a person a Christian.
I am obviously NOT in the Moral Majority. I don't believe in what the Moral Majority stands for. In fact, I think that the Moral Majority is a deterrent from the Gospel. It places value on morals, when the Bible says that we are immoral. It also causes many to shirk away from the truth because of a stupid ideology.

i might accept as true with the two one among your counts. My own opinion is that it is generally the church that places those techniques into peoples heads ... concern and repenting. as long as you repent when you sin, you're ok. a minimum of it is my impact. besides the reality that I examine the Bible now and returned, i attempt to allow my own own relationship with God be my cornerstone. i do no longer flow to church simply by fact i hit upon maximum individuals there to be a splash judgemental, or uninviting. The Bible says, in spite of the shown fact that, that people who have not been taught approximately God or Jesus are actually not exempt from desiring to have self belief in God ... that God ought to be obtrusive in daily existence. that's what further me back to Christianity after some years of staring at different religions/strategies of thinking. I remember this quote from Hamlet: "My words fly up, my techniques stay below: words without techniques never to heaven flow." i think of it is how a great style of folk are. Sorry if this did no longer particularly answer your question. basically throwing some stuff obtainable.

If people live flawlessl God would take his people to heaven in an instence. This utopian society would never happen.I do think that our nation is deteorating. If we stand by God standards we wouldnt have the problems that we have today. For example each year in US anaverage of 100,030 thausand people die each year of aids. Most of them are homosexuals and people who go to the prostitutes. There is a whole list of other things.I believe that if we stand with Gods standardswe will be prosperous.the reason this country is a current supperpower is because of it's foundation which was based on Bibleical principals. The economy was based on Biblecal principals and the list can go on and on.The reason why our country is falling apart is because of we steped away from God given standards. In the world there are two powers the good and the evil.If you go on the evil side ot's going to bring to destruction one day.We all say it in the past history. The countrys that stayed close to God always prospered but the country that walked away from God always failed.Just look at the Soviet Union it denied God and killed christians and it fell in shame. We see it today in America as we step away from God we are bigining to fail.We see this in all aspects of our country.Just look at our economy education system etc.
The way out of this is to get to our roots and stick with them. The roots are in God.After doing lost of research I had found out that the Pilgrims did't come here to excape prosecution they came here to start a christian nation.

''Simply put, would you prefer America was as sterile and innoculated against "sins" that the whole country lived in a "Leave It To Beaver" type of culture, or do you find the true beauty of America, the fact that there are so many variations on lifestyle, belief, and behavior?''
Do you think that people being GOOD would be a bad thing ?
Lets see if your tune would change if you were the victim of rape , or a drive-by shooting , or being robbed of every cent that you have.
I think your view would be opposite to what you now have.
This is what God says on the matter.
James 1:21 ". . .Hence put away all filthiness and that superfluous thing, badness, and accept with mildness the implanting of the word which is able to save YOUR souls."
Another possibility is that people do not want and end of wickedness because they too enjoy the darkness of badness.
Isaiah 5:20 "Woe to those who are saying that good is bad and bad is good, those who are putting darkness for light and light for darkness, those who are putting bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!"
Ephesians 4:17-19 ". . .This, therefore, I say and bear witness to in [the] Lord, that YOU no longer go on walking just as the nations also walk in the unprofitableness of their minds, while they are in darkness mentally, and alienated from the life that belongs to God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the insensibility of their hearts. Having come to be past all moral sense, they gave themselves over to loose conduct to work uncleanness of every sort with greediness."

I love variation! I'm a devout Christan but understand not everyone has to think or act like me to be a good person.
If we all lived in a "sterilized" environment, there wouldn't be much to life. JMHO

Oh yes, I would much rather live in a society full of thieves, liars, cheaters, slanderers, rapists, pedophiles, homosexuals, child abusers, wife beaters, extortioners, murderers, violent aggressors, and so forth.
Too many stinkin' Christians with their "love your neighbor as yourself" would make a terrible society.
