Not to me. By the way people...The fact that someone dates out of their age group has NOTHING to do with the fact that we can't fine soemone in our own age group. That is such an ignorant comment. I can get a guy in any age group actually!!!! I just stayed with the one that treated me kind.

I know the PC answer is no, but logically, yes there is.

The 50-year-old has a lot more life experience than the 18-year-old. There are a lot of experiences that the 18-year-old doesn't have yet and should get from people their own age. I could tell the age difference when I was 19 dating a 28-year-old and that's not even close to a 50-year-old. They just can't truly be in the same place, no matter how much they think they are.

The 50-year-old should be finding someone older with common interests and the 18-year-old should be thinking about college, a career, possibly a family if they want one at some point. Why would a 50-year-old want a family? Or at least a new one? They may have children older than 18 after all...

Also, think about 20/30 years from now. 70/80 and 38/48?? I guess the older one wouldn't need a nursing home as the nurse-maid is built in as a spouse...

I don't think it makes much sense from a logical point of view, but I do wish them both luck.

It is legal but just because it's legal doesn't make it right. At 18 you are still growing & experiencing life. Sure dating someone at 50 can be a life enhancing experience but the likelihood of it developing into a serious, long term committment or marriage and surving are slim to none. There is a generational gap that may be too wide to straddle. The younger one may not want to be tied down. In 10 years one will be 60 and the other 28. . .20 years 70 & 38. . in 30 years: 100 (hopefully) and 68. . .at 38 you may expect to care for an aging parent but not an aging spouse/significant other. Have fun but let it end there. Just my $0.02!

Ideally -- no. In a perfect world, age would be nothing but a number. But in this world, there are so many factors -- is he only interested because the girl is young and pretty? Do they have anything to talk about? 32 years is a pretty big age gap. But I mean if the man isn't being just an old skeeze, and he genuinely likes the girl as a person and not a trophy, I don't see too much wrong with it.

the fact that a 50 year old can't find someone his own age is a red flag. What on earth can a 50 year old have in common with an 18 year old other than playing the role of mommy or daddy??

Personally I wouldn't date a 50 year old... I'm 18.

So in my view yeah I think there is something wrong with it. But everyone has different opinions so there is no right or wrong answer.

let's just say it's not as common.. and although it shouldn't be wrong.most people might think it is.. but you have to understand that there's a big age difference and a gap.. and a lot i mean too many difference betweent two totally different generations.. when he was 18.. she wasn't born...
and when she was 1.. who know how old he was.

but yet if there's love, who cares what everyone else thinks

um ya like their is nothing they could have in common , to share with each other , And the fact that he could be her grand dad so i would classify that as a perve or he is just really having a hard time accepting his age and trying to relive his youth ,think about the extra burden he is putting on her as his heath fades and shes stuck looking after him when she should be out there living life with other able bodied Friends her own age .
