The way I heard it was that his friend drew a cartoon charicature of Muhomo, and thus was executed. The reason Muhomo doesn't want his followers drinking alcohol is because it is good, and all things good and fun are banned in Islam, because they suck.

The story u made about it is all fake and concocted one...
Do u think Alcohol is good ... something that u can recommend to ur friends , or family
If u think that Alcohol is good for health then no point on arguing with u ...
And for others..

Intoxicants and Gambling Prohibited*
[2:219] They ask you about intoxicants and gambling: say, "In them there is a gross sin, and some benefits for the people. But their sinfulness far outweighs their benefit." They also ask you what to give to charity: say, "The excess." GOD thus clarifies the revelations for you, that you may reflect,

*2:219 The world now recognizes that the economic benefits from manufacturing alcoholic beverages and illicit drugs are not worth the traffic fatalities, brain damage to children of alcoholic mothers, family crises, and other disastrous consequences. Untrue.
Muhammad was considered a divine and protected person from birth. Such crime and abhorred act would be incompatible
with the Muslim belief of his perfection.
One reason for the ban towards alcohol was the behaviour of Muhammad's uncle Hamzah r.a, who used to be a drunkard.
**EDIT**
But the first and foremost reason was that anything that makes you behave like an idiot or anything that clouds your judgement and / or intellect was proclaimed to be forbidden by God according to Islam. The story of Hamzah just makes an example out of it.

Yes it is true that God spoke in the Qur'an and Muhammad pbuh said in his hadits that khamar (alcoholic drink) is not allowed.By drinking it it will ruin our health and it will make us drunk.Drunking man or woman could not pray properly, beca use he/she got drunk and does not aware the time for praying..Besides that drinking khamar will make more crimes (mak'siat)..But your story that Muhammad pbuh killed somone while he was drunk is not true. The reason for banning the alcoholic drink is caused by God's prohibition as spoken in the holy Qur'an (see surah Al Maidah)Muhammad pbuh explained in his hadits that banning khamar is not only for its drinker but also for its maker and its seller and other parties who help its transactions.(see hadits nr 2806 and 2807)

No, it's because one of his companions got too drunk and named his Teddy bear "Mohammed".
He then performed an impromptu puppet show with the bear, and Mohammed got really ticked off.
Everyone got a good laugh, but from that point on, nobody was allowed to drink alcohol or make a likeness of Mohammed - especially a teddy bear!
