Methuselah lived to be in the 900's somewhere?
Most people can't live until 90 now
What gives?

It's rather early in the book of Genesis where God pretty much says "Okay, that's enough of this long life stuff, from now on you can only live to 120 max!" I don't feel like looking it up, but it's real easy to find if you are actually interested in finding it out. Just scim through until you find where it starts talking about how long each one lived, and it's right after that.

becuase, if the bible is accurate, they lived near the equator
there's not really a season change there, but they noticed the moon's phases and might have decided that a full turn of the moon was a year.
a human can live for 900 months (which is 75 years, give or take)

Adam and Eve were perfect creations, it took that long for them to die. The farther from them we get, the more imperfect we have become. Now God gives the average life span of man at 70 years.

I tend to think that God did create us to be immortal. Bring in sin........we were told that to eat of the forbidden fruit would result in death. Adam and Eve did not die at that exact moment, so they doubted............
As time went on, we continued to challanege God, even to the point of changing our diet by introducing meat. We ignored the rules of diet, preferring to satisfy our appetites.......bring on disease, weak constitutions, etc
Yet as the population grew it was not necceasary for an individual to have such a long life span...
The life spans grew increasingly shorter.....man has fought God every step of the way.........
It is by His Grace that mankind continues to exist at all
